2016, The Raft

Steve and Bucky had successfully managed to escape Berlin and make their way to Siberia, leaving the rest of their team behind. Now here they all were; Clint, Scott, Sam, Wanda, and Clover, all trapped in individual cells in this prison in the middle of the ocean.

Due to Wanda's powers, she was tied up in a straight jacket in her cell. And due to Clover's powers, the guards cranked up the heat in their cell, preventing them from using their powers effectively.

After spending many hours locked up, the prison had a visitor. And it was none other than Tony Stark.

"The Futurist, gentlemen! The Futurist is here! He sees all! He knows what's best for you, whether your like it or not." Clint sarcastically remarked.

"Give me a break, Barton. I had no idea they'll put you here. Come on." Tony said.

"Yeah, well, you knew they'd put us somewhere, Tony." Clint argued.

"Yeah, but not some super-max floating ocean pokey. You know, this place is for maniacs. This is a place for..." Tony trailed off.

"Criminals?" Clint asked.

He then stood up, eyeing Tony through the bars of his cell.

"Criminals, Tony. Think that's the word you're looking for." He said. "Right? That didn't used to mean me. Or Sam, or Wanda, or even Clover. But here we are."

"Because you broke the law." Tony stated.

Clint rolled his eyes.

"I didn't make you." Tony said.

Clint then started making annoying noises to block out everything Tony was saying, and the genius billionaire walked away.

"Hank Pym always said, you can never trust a Stark." Scott muttered.

Tony glared at Scott with a confused look etched across his face.

"Who are you?" He questioned.

"Come on, man." Scott sighed.

Tony walked away, passing by Sam's cell. He could feel the heat radiating out of Clover's cell, which was right next to Sam's.

"Geez, they really cranked up the heat in her cell, didn't they?" Tony remarked, asking Sam.

Clover peered up out of the cell, glaring at Tony angrily.

"Yeah. Pretty upsetting that this is happening to THEM." Sam muttered, emphasizing the 'them' in order to correct Tony.

"It's a real shame she's ended up in this situation..." Tony shrugged.

"Barnes knew THEM. He knew of their powers." Sam replied, still trying to get the 'they/them' thing inside Tony's head.

"They wouldn't be in here had they not joined you guys. You guys took an innocent young-"

"Stark, I swear to god, you call me a woman right now I'll use what's left of my power on you." Clover interrupted him. "Now, if you have shit to say about me, say it to my face."

Tony stopped, stayed quiet a bit, then turned back to Sam.

"How's Rhodes?" Sam asked.

"They're flying him to Columbia Medical tomorrow. So... fingers cross." Tony explained. "What do you need? They feed you yet?"

"You're the good cop now?" Sam questioned.

"I'm just the guy who needs to know where Steve went." Tony calmly stated.

"Well, you better go get a bad cop, because you're gonna have to go Mark Fuhrman on my ass to get information out of me." Sam said.

Tony looked to Clover, who was still glaring at him with an angry look in their eyes. Whether it was because they were trapped in a cell having a damn heatstroke or because Tony was misgendering them, or even both, Tony couldn't really tell. Knowing he probably wasn't going to get any answers out of them, Tony turned back to Sam.

"I just knocked the 'A' out of their 'AV'. We got about 30 seconds before they realize it's not their equipment." He stated. "Just look. Because that is the fellow who was supposed to interrogate Barnes. Clearly, I made a mistake. Sam, I was wrong."

"That's a first." Sam muttered.

"Cap is definitely off the reservation but he's about to need all the help he can get. We don't know each other very well. You don't have to..."

"Hey, it's alright." Sam cut him off. "Look, I'll tell you... but you have to go alone and as a friend."

"Easy." Tony confidently whispered back.

And Sam explained where they were. Tony left a few minutes later, telling the guards that Sam had just told him to go to hell and that he was heading back to the compound. And once he left, Clover leaned their head against the wall and closed their eyes.

They remembered being in this situation before. When they were first in HYDRA five years ago. When those scientists were experimenting on them. When they got their powers. They remembered having used their newfound powers to escape HYDRA, and they ran and ran until they knew no agents were chasing them.

After that, Clover, their two brothers and their aunt moved further upstate in hopes of getting away. And so far, they seemed to.

There was a reason Clover hated being called Lola. Well, a few. One being of course that that's not who they are anymore, but also because it simply reminds them of the god awful mistake they had made in the past. Back when they were still a bit lost, after their parents and their older sister died in a car crash. All Clover had wanted to do was change the world, and this organization 'HYDRA' had promised that.

Clover sighed, wondering what the hell they were planning to tell their aunt if they ever got the chance to go back home. That was, if they could prevent themselves from dying of a heatstroke before that could happen.

They were sweating profusely because of the heat, and they were getting increasingly tired from how hot their body was getting. By this point, their powers were not working at all whatsoever, and their breathing was getting heavier by the second.

"Hey, can we turn the heat down in there?!" Clover heard Sam demanding.

It took a bit, as the guards weren't sure whether or not to listen to Sam. But after one of the guards came up to check the condition of Clover, they decided to turn the heat down a bit. Although they were already so hot that it was helping.

A few more hours later, the prisoners were rescued by none other than Steve. Sam helped Clover out of the prison, and on the way back, their body temperature eventually returned to normal and their powers began working again.

A/N: Anyways Clover basically starts dying when the heat is cranked up because every since they got their powers, their body temperature is naturally really cold.

A/N: Yay another chapter is done.
