2018, Wakanda.
The moment the Quinjet entered Wakanda's force field, Clover immediately looked around at the stunning city they were approaching.
"It's so beautiful." They muttered.
The jet landed just in front of the massive palace, and King T'Challa can be seen in front of it with his guards close behind. The door to the jet opened up, and Steve and Natasha exited first, followed by Bruce, Rhodey and Clover, then Wanda and Vision behind them. Bruce, having never met the king of Wakanda, turned to Rhodey.
"Should we bow?" He asked.
"Yeah, he's a king." Rhodey answered.
"Seems like I'm always thanking you for something." Steve said, shaking T'Challa's hand.
Bruce awkwardly bowed before the Wakandan King.
"What are you doing?" Rhodey questioned.
"Uh... we don't do that here." T'Challa calmly stated.
Bruce stood up straight again, shooting Rhodey a look, then Clover, who then put their hands up in defence.
"So how big of an assault can we expect?" T'Challa asked as the group made their way to the entrance of the building.
"Uh, sir, I think you can expect quite a big assault." Bruce spoke up.
"How we looking?" Natasha asked.
"You will have my Kingsguard, the Border Tribe, the Dora Milaje, and..."
Bucky then appeared, smiling.
"A semi-stable 100 year old man." He said.
Steve and Bucky exchanged a hug. After all, it had been two years since Steve had last seen him.
"How've you been, Buck?" He asked.
"Not bad, for the end of the world." Bucky chuckled.
Once their reunion was over, T'Challa led them to his sister Shuri's lab, where Vision was already set down on the operating table.
"Whoa. The structure is polymorphic." Shuri remarked.
"Right, we had to attach each neuron non-sequentially." Bruce explained.
"Why didn't you just reprogram the synapses to work collectively?" Shuri asked.
The room went quiet. Clover was completely lost the moment the young Wakandan princess spoke, so they were basically just watching the view of the city. It was stunning, compared to the city of New York they were born and raised in.
"Because we didn't... think of it?" Bruce replied hesitantly.
"I'm sure you did your best." Shuri said with a smile.
"Can you do it?" Wanda asked.
"Yes, but there are more than two trillion neurons here. One misalignment could cause a cascade of circuit failures." Shuri explained.
She turned to T'Challa.
"It will take time, brother." She said.
"How long?" Steve asked.
"As long as you can give me." Shuri stated.
General Okoye heard an alarm from her bracelet, and placed one of the beads in her hand. The bead revealed a mini model of the earth.
"Something's entered the atmosphere." She said.
"Hey, Cap, we got a situation here." Sam reported over the radio.
