2024, Latvia.

Clover had been walking down the almost empty streets of Latvia for about 15 minutes now, always checking behind them to see if anyone happened to be following them. The last thing they wanted was for someone like Karli to find them alone. They might be skilled with their powers, but they would be screwed in any hand to hand combat. With a super soldier no less. They also didn't want Walker to come back and find them, because if that happened, they would straight up kill him.

Miniature patches of ice formed in the cracks of the stone sidewalk as Clover angrily walked, trying to calm their nerves. Unfortunately, there weren't any local ice rinks to go skate around and they didn't want to just plant some ice down in the middle of the road, as that would attract attention, so Clover was indeed finding it a bit difficult to calm down from the rage they had experienced earlier. The 22 year old found themselves in between a couple buildings, all alone, and they sat down against one of the outside walls and continued making circles with their right hand, which began generating a little pile of snow beside them.

Finally, everything that had been said in the last 20 minutes came back to them and reminded them why they had stormed out. All the transphobic things Walker had said to them, even after Lemar told him to stand down, and even how they had reacted to that. Naturally, as any trans person would, Clover did not like when people were transphobic to them, but the way they had just snapped at Walker, and even Sam, like that was freaking them out internally.

Speaking of Sam, Clover felt kinda bad for having yelled at him like that. After all, he was just trying to calm them down before they did something irrational, and Clover had just blasted him, because their mind could only focus on how pissed off they were at Walker.

Finally, Clover broke down. The stress of everything that had happened was too much and they pressed their head up against their knees and started crying. It was probably one of the first times Clover had cried like this in a long time. Because really, Walker was one of the first people in a long time to speak to Clover with so much transphobia, apart from random people who would question Clover's pronouns for no damn reason. Clover's tears, unlike most things in their body, were warm and seemed to heat up their face a little. Clover didn't care right now. They just felt broken down by everything that had happened.

Meanwhile, Sam walked around, silently trying to find his ice powered friend. He knew what could happen if Karli found them first, and he knew what would definitely happen if Walker had found them first. Sam called Clover's name a few times in hopes of finding them, but so far, they were nowhere to be found.

"Shit. Don't disappear on me, Clover..." He muttered.

He grew worried about Clover. He had witnessed first hand the transphobia from Walker and he had of course witnessed Clvoer completely lashing out. Neither he, nor Bucky, nor any of the other people he knew who could have known Clover from HYDRA, had ever seen Clover lash out the way they did, and hell, he wasn't even sure if Clover had ever lashed out like that in their life. That was basically the main reason he wanted to find them. He wanted to check in on them, and make sure they were okay.

Lucky for him, he ended up finding a clue to Clover's whereabouts. A trail od icy patches within the cracks of the street, that left a trail. And unless there were any other ice powered individuals out there, which Sam rightfully doubted so, he knew Clover had made these patches. He followed the trail of ice, passing by a few people in the process, and eventually found the alleyway, where the ice seemed to stop.

After walking a bit further down, he eventually spotted the young adult on the ground with their head against their knees, crying. Sam immediately knew they weren't okay, but instead of rapidly approaching them asking them what was wrong, he just slowly, and calmly walked towards the individual. He sat on their left (A/N: Get it? "On your left"? Literally thought about that as soon as I started this chapter.), and Clover quickly realized someone had just shown up. And they had a feeling they knew who it was.

"How'd you find me, Sam?" They asked.

"Well, you left a trail of ice patches behind you, so I just followed that." Sam chuckled.

Clover lifted their head slightly, noticing the ice in the cracks that they had done while walking.

"I didn't even notice that." They muttered, looking back down.

Sam placed a hand on their shoulder, but Clover didn't look at him.

"You doin' okay?" He asked.

"Do I look okay to you, Sam?" Clover sighed. "I just can't believe I lashed out like that... I've never done that before. Even before I got my powers. I've always managed to keep my cool."

"You've always had an issue with Walker even before you met him." Sam remarked.

"Well, of course! Not only does he think he can just boss us around and bark orders at us, but he's transphobic as hell!" Clover exclaimed. "If I see him again, I might just kill him."

"You aren't killing the guy, Clover." Sam told them. "I hate his guts as much as you do, but you'd get in one hell of a lot of trouble if you killed Walker."

Clover listened to Sam's words, then sighed, admitting he was right.

"Those things that Walker said... they hurt, you know. I've met my fair share of transphobic people but I don't think I've ever met someone as bad as him." They explained. "I absolutely think my family would have supported my transition. Hell, if they weren't, I'm not even sure they'd let me buzz cut my hair..."

"I think your family would be really proud of you." Sam assured them.

"Yeah, well, I wouldn't be here if my family was still alive." Clover shrugged.

Sam shrugged as well.

"You know I didn't come out as non-binary until about 3 years after I escaped HYDRA?" Clover asked.

Obviously not knowing that, Sam shook his head.

"I think if you were truly changing yourself to run from HYDRA you would have done that way earlier." He chuckled.

Clover smiled at him as he seemed to sort of understand their point.

"You're right. I would have. That's why it pissed me off when Walker said that." They stated.

Sam chuckled in response as Clover picked up the pile of snow on the ground beside them. They chucked the powdery snow all over the ground in front of them and relaxed a bit.

"Feelin' better?" Sam asked them.

Clover was quiet for a moment, then they stood up.

"I'll take that as a yes." Sam then muttered as he also stood up.

Clover then wrapped their arms around Sam, only happy that he had come to find them. Sam gladly accepted the hug from their ice powered friend and hugged them back.

"Thanks for cheering me up." Clover mumbled.

"Anytime. Now come on. We gotta try and find Karli." Sam replied.

The two set off to find Bucky and Maria, but while they were walking, Sam's cellphone began ringing. It was his sister, Sarah, who was about to tell him that Karli had just called her, still pissed of about earlier.

A/N: Idk if you figured it out yet but I'm kinda bad at writing sentimental scenes in books and stuff. I'm slowly figuring it out lmao.
