Clover raced down the sidewalk as fast as they could, towards the news building where the GRC vote was meant to be held. Around the giant skyscraper, police officers and even FBI agents gathered around the building, all pointing their guns upwards.
"I'm almost there." Sam informed everyone over the comms.
"Good. I think it's about to get real nasty." Clover stated.
"I agree. What's the plan?" Bucky asked.
"Karli's gotta be close. Keep your eyes open." Sam said.
"Well, it could be anybody." Bucky muttered.
Clover managed to find Bucky and Maria as they walked towards the building, passing the cops who let them go by.
"And by the way, I called in some backup." Sam then added.
"Oh? Who's that?" Clover questioned.
"Excuse me, guys. Are you supposed to be here?"
Clover, Bucky, and Maria all turned around to find a man in a beanie approaching them and questioning them. Or at least, they thought it was. The three of them were confused, but Bucky couldn't help but feel like there was something familiar about the person in front of them. Rightfully so, as the 'man' pressed a finger to 'his' forehead and took off the beanie. With the removal of this disguise, the person revealed herself to be Sharon.
"It's me." She said.
"Yo." Clover spoke up.
"Sharon, what the hell are you doing here?" Bucky questioned.
"Relax. No one's looking for me here." Sharon told him.
"Do I hear Sharon?" Sam asked in a teasing tone.
"Unfortunately." Bucky muttered.
"Hey, Sam. I thought I'd get the band back together." Sharon said.
"Thank you. You're risking a lot coming here."
"I hear pardons aren't all they're cracked up to be." Sharon sighed.
"Depends on the therapist." Bucky stated.
"They'll move on the building soon. Be ready." Sam told everyone.
"I'm always ready, Birdbrain." Clover chuckled.
Sam then flew above everyone, while he rolled his eyes at Clover's comment. Meanwhile, in an alleyway on the ground, Karli Morgenthau had seen Sam fly overhead, and made the order to her teammates.
"He's here. Do it now."
Within the building, the attack began by one of the Flag Smashers tossing a ball on the ground. The ball began releasing a form of gas, which seemed to be poisonous. Chaos broke out as everyone began frantically trying to leave the building, before being intercepted by the super soldiers. But before anything could happen, a shield came smashing through the window, hitting one of the Flag Smashers and bouncing back. And then in came crashing Sam, who landed on his feet and caught the shield, dawning a brand new Captain America suit. He ran over and removed the Flag Smasher's mask, then looked towards the senators as he put his shield away.
"Sharon, Bucky, Clover, Maria, what's going on on your end?" He questioned.
The quartet on the ground was scouting the building.
"Nothing. All quiet." Bucky reported.
"A bit too quiet." Clover added.
Sam sighed as he approached the senators.
