Though I yelled for Rei, I doubt he heard me with the storm that was coming down hard. All I know is that someone needed help. So I swam and swam and swam the fastest I'd ever swam in my life.
"Y/n! Rei!" I heard Makoto's voice getting distant but also closer to Rei and me.
There's waves that are hitting me left and right. The currents are strong. The wind is merciless along with the rain. As the bigger waves form I stick my head underwater getting closer and closer to Rei, "Rei!" I called out, "Y/n!" He shouted back.
As long as I can hear him shouting the closer I get the better. I can use my sense of hearing to lead me to Rei's direction. I grabbed Rei once I found him, "Stay calm, Rei!" I shouted over the crashing of the waves and rain. I turned around and saw Makoto in the middle of the water between the shore and where Rei and I are currently at.
Crap. Not you, too. Makoto looks terrified. Why did he follow me?!
"Watch the waves! Hold your breath, let's go!" I shouted as we swam toward Makoto, "Mako! Mako!" I shouted as loud as I could, snapping him out of his trance.
C'mon brother. I need you right now. Snap out of it. I can't take you both by myself.
I caught a glance of Haru and Nagisa behind him. But Makoto's having a hard time too. Shit. It's fine. Haru can get to him before I can. I need to focus on Rei and myself and try not to freaking drown here, too.
"Don't worry, I'm here!" Nagisa said as he tried helping me with Rei, "No!" A huge wave was right above us, "Take a deep breath! NOW!" I shouted.
And when I woke up we were on one of the deserted islands. Alive, thankfully.
"Y/n! Y/n! Are you okay?!" Nagisa asked me as I was laying on the sand under a tree. I sat up straight, gasping, "Rei! Where's Rei?!" I asked, desperately.
"Don't worry. He's right over there," Nagisa pointed as I looked to where he was pointing. I let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness. I fell on my back again.
Makoto.
I let out another gasp, "WHERE'S MAKO?!" I shouted, standing up.
"Haru helped him. I'm not sure where they're at though." Nagisa answered.
"We need to find them!" I shouted, walking toward Rei, "Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'm sorry to have caused everyone so much trouble. Rei answered.
"It's alright!" Nagisa comforted him.
"No. I feel so stupid."
"Don't get all down on yourself. The most important thing is that you're alright, Rei."
"No. It's not alright," I spoke up, clenching my fist and standing in front of Rei, behind Nagisa.
"I—"
"What if I hadn't woken up? What would we have done? Rei...what if we had lost you?" I started crying, walking toward him, falling onto my knees in front of his legs as he sat on a log.
"Y/n..." Rei whispered.
I placed my forehead on his knee, "Don't ever do that again. I'll never forgive you if something happens to you."
"Okay. I won't."
"Promise me!" I shouted, looking up at him.
"I promise, y/n. I'll never do something that stupid ever again."
"Come on, let's go look for Mako and Haru," Nagisa said after a few moments.
"I...I saw Makoto out there. I don't know what it was but something about the look on his face terrified me. I can't explain it. He wasn't himself. Suddenly, he had changed," Rei spoke out.
