"Hey, Gō! Let me help with those bags!" The girl with weird hair ran up to us.
"Thanks, it was getting heavy! Y/n, this is Chigusa Hanamura, Hanamura this is Y/N Tachibana," Gō said.
"I believe we've met," I smiled.
She gasped, "You called my hair weird!" Hanamura said.
"I mean, to be fair..." I muttered under my breath.
"So, some friends of mine want to cheer for your swim club when you compete in regionals, would that be okay?" Hanamura asked Gō.
"Sure! But I've gotta ask, what's with the sudden interest?"
"It's amazing a new club made it that far so I mean, why wouldn't we come cheer for them," Hanamura chuckled.
I spoke, "As long as you don't go calling my family weirdos, the more the merrier," I faked a big smile, so much it was obvious.
First, they're weird but now that those same 'weirdos' are climbing up the student's jock system that is when they're no longer weird?
I hate people who switch up like that the most.
They're snakes.
"Ah— sorry about that..." Hanamura said.
"Nope, it's fine. That's your opinion. Next time, keep it to yourself," I stopped walking to look directly at her, they stopped after I did, "Just don't go near them unless it's to congratulate them. No ulterior motive, for example wanting to 'get to know them better' and everything will be peachy," I said, "Gō, I'll go on ahead first."
No way I'll let snakes near the boys especially because if they do hit it off, I'll have to deal with all those fake people.
Not my style.
"Who is she to say I can't even talk to them?" Hanamura scoffed, almost throwing a tantrum.
"She's really overprotective. I suggest you take her advice. Y/n when push comes to shove, she'll take you to a place you don't wanna be," Gō smiled, enforcing what I just said, while also helping a friend. Thus, helping both me and Hanamura.
At the bus station, the day before Regionals, Coach Sasabe, Ms. A, Gō, me, Hanamura, and a few of her friends stood in front of the boys as they held a banner for them.
"Have fun! We'll be heading out to meet you first thing in the morning!" Ms. A said.
I walked up to my brother, "Here," I handed Makoto some melatonin gummies, "I know you won't be able to sleep that well. Make sure all of you take one early so that you can get a good night's rest," I smiled at everyone.
"Yes, we don't need you exhausted before the tournament! Make sure you rest once you get to the hotel!" Gō said.
"I believe the Roman General Cesar said it best, 'If we cross, we shall reap tragedy among the world and if we do not—" Nagisa cut off Ms. A. "Hey look! The bus!"
"Alright, guess we're off!" Makoto said.
"Okay," I smiled, giving the boys a hug ending with my brother, "I'll see you tomorrow, I love you guys!"
"We love you, too, sis," Makoto smiled softly.
"To victory!" The boys shouted before hopping on the bus.
"All done! What do you think?" Gō held up a banner for tomorrow in front of Hanamura and me.
"Mhm, I'm not feeling the chicken, at all—" I cut Hanamura off.
"IT'S SO CUTEEEE! They'll love it. It feels like we put our hearts into it!" I said,
"What's wrong with it?!" Gō asked Hanamura.
