Liam's POV
I got off the phone with Harry and began devising a way to tell Lena part of the truth, but not all of it.
The most important thing was that she never know who Harry was.
I needed to call Ashton.
I dialed his number and waited.
"Hello?"
"Ashton, it's Liam." I said.
"I know. I figured you would call eventually. Lena dropped Keira off about an hour ago. She said she and Justin got in a fight. But I had a feeling there were more people involved than Justin." he said.
"There is. Harry showed up on Justin's doorstep today, threatening to tell Lena everything. When Justin told me, he and I got into a heated conversation about it, and Lena caught the end of it. She knows the two of us are lying, and she knows Zayn knows." I said.
"Lena's oblivious, but not stupid. If she knows Zayn knows, then she's probably guessed that the others do too." Ashton said. "And I would guess she suspects us as well."
"It would explain why she just dropped Keira off and left. Did she say where she was going?" I asked hopefully.
"Of course not, Liam." Ashton said. "This is Lena we're talking about. She's fantastic at running."
"I know." I said. "The thing that worries me is when she runs from us, she gets caught by someone much less desirable."
"You mean Harry." Ash said.
"Yes. I mean Harry."
"What does he know, Liam?" He asked.
"He knows everything. That we've lied to Lena about both her real and adopted parents. That we lied about him. That we lied about Alan. And Ashton," I broke off.
"No." He said. "He can't know about that."
"He does, Ash. He knows about the deal."
"Fuck." He said. "What do we do?"
"He told Justin if we didn't tell Lena everything that he would. So, i called Harry after Lena left." I said.
"Wait, you actually spoke to him?" He asked.
"I had to do it. For Lena. Anyway, I told Harry that we would tell her everything. But if he were to see her, not to say a word." I said.
"Do you think he'll honor that?" Ashton asked.
"He'd better." I said.
"For his sake."
Harrys POV
Lena came back from the bathroom after a few minutes, and I smiled up at her. I so badly wanted to tell her I loved her, but Liam said he would tell her everything. And I knew he would.
And when she knew I loved her, she'd call me. I knew it.
"Thank you for letting me come here." Lena said, sitting on the couch.
"It's no problem, Lena." I said.
"I wish I knew how we knew each other." She said, leaning back. "You know. Before the accident."
We were in love. I thought.
"I'm sure Liam will tell you." I said.
"Liam won't tell me anything." She snapped.
"Give him time. He's just trying to protect you. He always has." I said.
She sighed and looked at me. "How do you know so much?" She wanted to know.
I leaned towards her. "I was your favorite One Direction member." I whispered.
"Really?" She asked. She lowered her own voice.
"Really." I said.
"I have a feeling that you and I didn't have the same type of friendship as Zayn and I." She breathed.
I hadn't realized how close we were until I was inches from her face.
"Not even close." I said.
I couldn't stop myself.
I kissed her.
