Lena's POV

The detective brings Keira and Ashton and I into the room I watched the video in yesterday after she picked Theo.

"Did I help?" Keira asked. The stress was evident on her adorable face.

"Yes, you did honey." the detective said.

"Detective West, Lena told me you didn't want Keira to testify in court." Ashton said. "Is that true?"

"Yes, it is. I will have to record her though." Detective West said.

"But she won't have to go to court?" I asked.

"Correct." she said.

I looked at Ash and he nodded in agreement. We would let her talk.

Detective West set up the camera and aimed it at a chair, then instructed me to put my daughter in the chair. Ashton and I couldn't hold her here, either, so we retreated to the other side of the room, behind Keira and out of sight of the camera.

"Okay, Keira." Detective West said. "Can you tell me the name of the monster? Do you know his name?"

"It was Theo." Keira said, looking curiously around.

"How do you know Theo?" West asked.

"He loved my mummy a long time ago." Keira said. "When we were in Florida."

"And what did he do, Keira?" West asked.

This was the part Keira didn't like. "He was mean." she said, tearing up.

It took everything in me not to go to her and tell her it was okay, and Ashton was obviously feeling the same way I did.

"How was he mean?" West asked.

"He hurt me." Keira said.

"How did he hurt you?" she asked.

"He hit me really really hard. And he made me drink yucky drinks. And he shaked me really hard and it hurt." Keira said.

"What happened when he made you drink the yucky drink?" West asked.

"I got tired and had bad dreams. When I woke up I went to get Mummy and told her I saw a monster, but she said it was a bad dream and she put me back in bed." Keira said. I wanted to die.

"How many times did Theo come in and hurt you?" West asked.

"I don't know. Like five." Keira said.

Keira's nightmares were a lot more frequent than five.

"Are you sure?" West asked.

"It was a lot." Keira said.

"What happened the last time the monster came in?" West asked her.

"He gave me the yucky drink, but I spit some of it out because I didn't like it. Then I cried and cried until Mummy came to get me, and she taked me to the doctor." she said.

"And the monster never came back?" West asked.

"No. I went to sleep at Daddy's." she said.

"And have you seen the monster since then?" West asked.

Keira gave her a look. "He was behind the magic window." she said.

"Do you remember the color?" West asked.

She was testing her. "Blue." Keira said.

"Good girl." West said, turning off the camera.

"I want Daddy." Keira whined.

"Daddy's here, baby." Ashton said, going and picking her up.

She held onto Ashton's neck and cried. I felt like crumpling to the floor. I felt sick to my stomach.

"Can we take her home now?" I asked Detective West.

"Of course. Thank you both so much." she said, showing us out.

Ashton and Calum took Keira to get some ice cream, Harry took me home.

Not Luke's house. Home.

Now that Theo was in custody there was no need to stay away.

"Lena, you okay?" Harry asked.

Ashton had given me a heartfelt apology outside the police station and invited me to go with them, but I was feeling awful and told them to go on.

"I hate this house. I let my baby get hurt. I'm a horrible mother." I said to Harry.

"It wasn't your fault, Lena." Harry said.

"Yes it was!" I cried.

"Hey, no it wasn't. Now I don't want to hear this anymore. You don't get to take the blame here. So many people have hurt you, and you blame yourself every time. You are not allowed to do it this time. I won't let you." He said angrily.

"Are you gonna make me stop?" I asked.

"If I have to!" He exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes. He was being ridiculous.

"Look, Ashton was wrong yesterday, even he thinks so. This is Theo's fault, not yours." Harry said.

"And what about when Alan traumatized her, huh? When he took me away right in front of her, leaving her alone in a park with no one?" I demanded.

"That was Alan's fault." he said.

"One of these days someone is going to have to let me take responsibility for all the times I fuck up." I said. "You and Liam are always trying to protect me and keep me from worrying, but it won't work, Harry. It won't. Stop trying."

"Liam and I love you, Lena. We are never going to stop trying." Harry said.

"You can't protect me from this! From myself!" I yelled.

Harry came up and put his arms around me. "Watch me." he said.
