Bonnie's House

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Bonnie got out of bed and went to the front door. It was Elena and Alaric.

"What are you two doing here so early?" Bonnie asked in alarm. Did they need a witch? Was something wrong? Was Jenna okay? Matt? Jeremy?

Alaric looked mad, "The question is, young lady, what are you doing here?"

Bonnie frowned, "I don't know what you mean. I live here. Could you keep it down? You are going to wake up my dad."

Elena looked around, "I don't see his truck."

Ric just stood and waited for Bonnie to explain, but she couldn't lie anymore.

Bonnie opened her mouth and then shrugged. The jig was up.

Ric shared, "Bonnie, your dad called this morning to check on you. You want to let us in so we can talk?"

Bonnie stepped aside reluctantly to let them in.

Elena goaded, "I don't know why you would lie to me."

Bonnie exclaimed, "Elena, it's not you. You guys have Matt at home now, Jenna's pregnant, and Jeremy and me are broken up. There's no room for me."

"Is that why we turned the office into a bedroom for you?" Ric asked pointedly. "We have plenty of room, Bonnie."

"But Ric, you guys need that space. I'm fine here," Bonnie insisted.

"That's not what I hear. You made some kind of vampire anti-healing cream as a prank? Tripped Tyler at lunch? What else have you down that we don't even know about, Bonnie? You dad is worried," Ric said plainly. "You are coming home with us."

"Look, I'm fine and aren't my dad, Ric. I'm staying here alone. Maybe you can go around bossing everyone else around from vampires to humans, but not me. Don't forget that I am a Bennett witch. You don't scare me," Bonnie said firmly.

"Young lady, you can come willingly, or you can come after I spank your stubborn behind right here in the living room. Now, get your stuff!' Ric demanded.

"You can't spank me, Ric. Don't be stupid," Bonnie hissed. "I mean, the other time was an one time thing..."

Ric punched some numbers into his cell phone and soon held it up to Bonnie's ear.

"Dad? Is that you?" Bonnie took the phone and walked a distance into the other room. Elena and Ric looked at each other. They were both dressed for school, but didn't have a whole lot of time left. They heard Bonnie say, "But Daddy, that's not fair" and "I'm too old for that" and then, "Sorry, I shouldn't have lied."

By the time Bonnie handed back the phone to Ric, she was crying and went to get dressed and grab her stuff. Ric talked to Rudy and then hung up.

Ric took the bags out of Bonnie's arm and set them down. He pulled Bonnie into a side hug, "Come here, kiddo. It's gonna be okay. We want you home with us. Your dad loves you, but his job is demanding. Now let's get to school before all three of us get busted for being late. I'll take you girls through a drive-thru for breakfast."
