April had put on leggings and a top and was waiting in Finn's room for him to "talk" to her. She felt better after breakfast, even though she knew she was really in for it. She knew Finn wasn't angry and that she had brought this on herself. Since Finn didn't instruct her to stand in the corner, April perched on the arm chair by the couch area stiffly. She picked at a hangnail. Rebekah was always getting on her case about picking at her cuticles, but it was a nervous habit.

The door opened and April expected to see Finn strolling in, but it was Kol. The brown haired vampire had a confident smirk on his face and a small jar in his hand.

"Kol! What are you doing? You know I'm in trouble," April whispered.

"Relax, darling. Estel sent me to give you this jar of healing cream for your....ah, well, ya know. I lifted it from Elijah's stash. He doesn't know I cracked his safe. Ha! He's always going on about hiding shite where 'naughty little fingers' can't find them, but I always do. Hide that, if I get caught, I'd probably get a,-" Kol was cut off by the door opening abruptly.

"Kol? What are you doing here?" Finn asked sharply. He was carrying the ping-pong paddle that Elena had swatted April with at the high school.

Kol's neck and face colored, "Oh Finn, I was just, eh, uh, giving April some advice."

"April, what did you just jam in the chair cushion? Hand it over!" Finn demanded.

April gave Kol a pained look and handed the healing cream over to Finn with a small sigh. "Sorry."

"I don't think this is your doing, is it?" Finn pressed. April looked down at the carpet solemnly.

Kol deflected Finn's sudden glare. "Okay, Brother, well, I'll be on my way. Stefan and I are working on the car, you know."

"You are not going anywhere. Does Elijah know you 'borrowed' his healing cream?" Finn asked.

Kol swallowed and ran a hand through his hair, "No, please, Finn. Don't tell him. He's busy."

Finn frowned, he stepped to the doorway and called to Elijah. A moment later, the second eldest brother appeared.

"Yes?" Elijah said looking around.

"Kol, tell Elijah what you did?" Finn insisted. Kol was pleading with Finn with his eyes not to do this.

"I broke into your safe and took some healing cream for April," Kol blurted. "I'm sorry."

"How did you get the combination?" Elijah wondered in shock. He looked at April who was trying to melt into the ground.

"You always pick the same combination. I know you, Brother. I only took the one jar," Kol reasoned.

"The reason I have to lock up valuables is because I cannot trust you not to go through my things. Kol, I expect better of you. Look, I have to go. Klaus wants me to go with him to the boarding house and have a talk with Julian. Finn is going to have to decide on your punishment," Elijah informed him. "We will talk about this later." Elijah gave Kol another firm look and then left.

Kol was furious, mostly at himself, but some at Finn. Now now Elijah was mad at him and he was possibly going to get two punishments! His day was ruined.

Finn scrubbed at his face with his hand, "Why don't you stand in the corner? I'm going to deal with April and then you Kol."

Finn was still brandishing the little paddle. Though, it looked flimsy and light to Kol, he knew Finn swatted hard and would make it sting to the maximum effect. He would have rather had wait for Elijah to punish him later.
