Elijah had put Hayley in his bed and was researching different poisons and chemical agents. She was still in a light coma. April was trying to get Rebekah calmed down. She felt terrible about what she had done.

Stefan and Damon were still at the Boarding House.

Klaus paced nervously in the kitchen, "Where did Estel and Kol run off to?"

Finn walked in holding the phone, "Brother, I think we need to take a ride to the church."

Klaus picked up his car keys and they left.

Former Marshall Worship House

The "worship house", as the Marshalls had called it, was just a plain run-down wooden building off to the side of the woods two miles north of the town center. There was no parking lot or even a decent sign to indicate what it was. That had fallen down after Pastor Young's premature demise and no one had erected a new sign. There was a large, old oak tree in the front of the property. This is where Karen Marshall's nude battered body was left hanging after her death. Kol had strung her up by her neck by a length of rope and her body swung in the wind.

By the time Klaus and Finn got there, Sheriff Forbes and her deputies were ready to cut the body down. "Nothing to see here, folks," a young deputy called to the small, horrified crowd. Most were former cult members and some just people passing who had stopped to look.

A rough looking woman called out, "She kilt herself. She ain't going to be buried in holy ground. Where in the world is Pastor Jude. It is the end times!"

Liz Forbes said, "No folks. It is not the end. We have an investigation open looking into the pastor's disappearance and we will investigate what happened here. Don't you worry. Now, you all head home and let us do our jobs."

Kol and Estel were talking to Mollie from school. She was there with her grandmother, who lived in a mobile home down the road.

"Awful stuff, ain't it," the grandmother intoned.

"Yes, ma'am. It sure is. Well, Mollie, we'll see you at school on Monday," Kol said politely. "Goodbye, ma'am." He saw his brothers coming and figured he was in for a tongue lashing.

Finn flinched at seeing the body cut down. Finn whispered to Kol, "At least you left the ladder."

Kol grinned slightly, "I thought that was a nice touch."

Klaus asked with concern, "Estel, sweetheart, are you all right?"

"Never been better. How's Hayley?" Estel replied. Kol had his arm around her and she was holding his hand.

"Still out of consciousness. It's over now, let's go home," Klaus insisted.

Kol pressed, "You're not angry, Nik? We just wanted to send a message."

"No, I'm not. I only wish you would have caught her body on fire first" Klaus added. "She created hell here on earth for people."

Estel couldn't help but say, "Rebekah released her, didn't she?"

Finn looked uncomfortable, "Yes, I am afraid she did. Don't worry, she will be punished."

"Someone won't be sitting for supper," Kol blurted out.

Klaus smirked, "Oh, I don't know. She might be doing an awful lot of sitting. You know Elijah and his writing punishments better than anyone."

"Lines? Better her than me," Kol scoffed in remembrance. "I would rather get a thrashing."
