Forbes' Residence

After School

Caroline cringed and asked Elena again, "Are you sure you aren't ticked at me? I was a little hard on Stefan. He's had a rough couple of days, but I warned them both. They just would not listen!"

They were whispering in the hallway while everyone else was settling the table for dinner and getting everything ready.

"Caroline, I'm not mad. You and your mom did the right thing! Honestly, Lexi warned me that Stefan acts up like this at times and needs firm discipline. Damon acts like a hard ass, but when it comes to his baby brother, he's just a big softy. All bark, little bite," Elena confided.

Caroline hugged Elena, "Oh, I'm so glad. You know I hate it when you are mad at me. How's Jenna feeling?"

"She's in bed. Ric is with her now. They are running tests," Elena shared.

"Girls! Dinner," Liz called from the kitchen.

"Coming, Mom," Caroline said.

Several Days Later

Mystic Falls High School

First Floor

Morning

Rebekah and Kol got dropped off near the main office. Klaus had enrolled them in the high school a day earlier. They had sat down and had a family meeting. They would pose as a "normal" American family. Rebekah and Kol had both been watching as much tv as they were allowed to. School looked so fun on television. Elijah warned them that television was not real and that they would have to study and behave while around so many humans.

Rebekah wanted to have a locker and wear cute outfits. All the girls were wearing trouser pants or very short skirts. Sometimes it made her blush, but she wanted to do it. She had been having so much fun playing with Greta's make up and clothes.

Kol wanted to feed from all the beautiful girls at the school and maybe play a sport. He thought he could be a sports star. They always seemed very popular on the television.

Finn would often watch television with them and have them translate. They spoke English and he was picking it up quickly. Elijah had compelled a tutor for all of them on modern life. There were so many little and big things they did not know or understand, but they were learning quickly.

Rebekah and Kol had been warned multiple times not to feed or compel anyone as there could be cameras or cell phone video taken anywhere.

"Do not look so bloody nervous, Little Sister! We have survived worse than high school," Kol reassured Rebekah.

"I know. It is just so....big. Kol, this schedule. I do not even know what some of these subjects are. What if we cannot do this?" Rebekah asked.

Kol put a hand on her arm, "Stop fretting, luv. We have been locked in coffins for too long. We deserve a chance to live freely and like...normal people. Now, we best get to class before we get caned."

Rebekah laughed, "I do not think they do that anymore. It is after-school detention now."

"Well, Elijah said he would thrash us if they got any bad reports about us, so make haste. See you at lunch?" Kol said looking at his schedule.
