Chapter Text

Gilbert Residence

Same Night

Ric ran up the stairs and found Jenna stamping her foot and shouting, "Stop already!"

Jeremy and Elena were just ignoring her and throwing everything they could get their hands on. Ric positioned himself in front of his pregnant fiancée and took a blow from a heavy math book that Elena threw.

Bonnie and Matt came out from Matt's room in confusion. Matt hissed,"What the hell?"

Ric shouted, "That is enough, Goddammit!"

Jeremy dropped the electric toothbrush he was about to hurt and looked at it in confusion.

"Sorry, we ah, just got caught up in the moment..." Jeremy conceded.

"You think?" Ric articulated in a disgusted voice.

Jenna stepped towards Elena, "Clean this mess up! Right now. You two hit me with that music thing and almost a book. I don't even know what to say." Jenna turned and made her way into the master bedroom and slammed the door.

"I have a few choice words for both of you," Ric said picking up the math book and putting it back on Elena's desk. Ric went on, "When Uncle John left, I promised you that you two would get the discipline you needed. I'll tell you the truth, I am sorely tempted to take off my belt right now."

"Ric, come on. We're sorry," Jeremy said as he started to pick up some of the debris on his floor.

Ric gave Elena a stern look, "Do you have anything smart to say for yourself?"

Elena looked scared, "No, I don't. I'm sorry. We didn't meet to hit Jenna!"

Ric cleared his throat, "Honestly, I am too angry to punish anyone right now. I think you need to get this cleaned up and go right to bed. We'll talk about it in the morning."

Jeremy just looked down and continued picking up things off the floor. Elena stood looking like she was about to burst into tears.

Ric was about to walk away and then stopped himself. "But that doesn't mean, I don't still love you, guys. Come here." Ric went over and hugged Elena briefly. "But you two are in a lot of trouble."

He stepped over and did the same to Jeremy.

Ric said goodnight to Bonnie, kissed her on the head and told Matt he was proud of him and gave him a side hug. They could tell he was eager to check on Jenna.

Matt and Bonnie went into Elena's room.

Matt whistled at the mess, "What were you two thinking? What a mess!"

"We weren't. Help us clean this up?" Elena asked hopefully in a subdued tone.

"Yeah, okay," Bonnie said evenly. "I thought you were going to get it right in front of Matt and me."

Elena started to cry, "I'm sorry. I know you all hate me now. I screwed up."

Bonnie rushed to hug her, "Stop it. No one hates you. You were an obnoxious little brat tonight, but we could never hate you. You know that."

Matt went over and helped Jeremy. Jeremy asked Matt, "Did you ever see Ric that pissed?"

"Nope," Matt replied. "Jenna either. You're in for it, Jer. But ya kind of deserve it."
