Chapter 10 - Cold

Soft tunes of Christmas carols were heard and people were clapping and singing them aloud, laughing and smiling being in their own world but Jungkook wasn't a part of it; rather he was sitting in his silent room yet hearing those sounds of people cheering and living their lives to their fullest.

The Christmas tree was decorated with lights and streamers, with the bright star situated right on top of it completing the tree in its ethic attire but he wasn't downstairs to marvel at the beauty of it.

Everything seemed to be joyous downstairs as the songs of greatness of Jesus Christ were sung, those lyrics conveying the messages of spreading love and smiles, doing no wrong and cherishing mankind and also forgiving mankind for their mistakes.

It was cold, the temperature going below minus degree as snow was falling, covering the area around in a blanket of whiteness that didn't provide warmth but gave those chills right down one's spine, one of the reasons why people prefer spring more than winter.

Those little feathery snowflakes fell down through the clouds high up creating another heaven on the earthy grounds where humans live and his eyes followed a single snowflake from sitting in his room looking out of his window seeing the small flake reach its destination to the window sill and reuniting with its mates down maybe that's how it was planned.

"How long do I have to wait? These snowflakes are falling. Will spring arrive soon? I miss you." His deep voice resonated in his room, his tone slightly shaking because of his chattering teeth, yet he was adamant not to close his window and let some of the snowflakes touch his skin, letting himself get pricked with the cold sensation.

His world wasn't warm like it used to be, it had been cold since the very day he was obstructed to even see his mate. Those moments were rarer than the blue moon occuring in the sky when he'd get to see those enchanting azure eyes, it's been like that for two years now.

He has been going through his day without even getting a glimpse of Taehyung, the omega who he cuddled all day suddenly just disappeared from his daily routine leaving everything quiet and unbearable.

It was harder than expected and it was draining his life out of him.

There were several knocks on the door and he already knew who it was, his gaze raised up seeing the beautiful wolf soul already sitting on his bed and then he heard the voice that warmed his heart.

"Hyungie! Come out! It's snowing! We'll go and play in the snow, maybe make a snowman?" Taehyung questioned, his voice enthusiastic as ever wishing this year at least his hyung would join him since Jungkook hasn't been making snowmans with him since the last two winters.

"Taehyung, I've got a cold! I can't!" Jungkook shouted back letting out a few fake coughs to convince the nine year old would be turning ten in a matter of five days.

"Oh... okay! Take care of yourself hyung, I love you." Taehyung sighed, resting his head against the cool oak door snuggling his nose in the muffler wrapped around his neck praying for his hyung to heal soon.

"I love you too, more than you'd ever know." Jungkook whispered, not wanting his words to be heard by Taehyung for reasons he was told to and forced to follow.

"Close the window hyung or you'd actually get cold." Luna said, smiling when Jungkook listened to him closing the window and dusting his clothes before the alpha made his way towards him sitting beside him.

"He is still outside?" Jungkook questioned tilting his head to admire Luna's beauty something he has been doing quite often afterall, the wolf soul would forget about him after five days and then Jungkook has to wait for eight years before he could see this beauty again.
