"Jungkook-ah, you haven't been talking to me, what's wrong child?" Areum asked, her long nails scratching Jungkook's scalp smiling seeing her son finding comfort in her touches, his head laying on her lap.
"Apart from the fact that you pushed Taehyung so brutally against the handrail that his lower back ended up having a bruise," he paused looking up at his mother with a sarcastic smile stretching on his lips, "nothing else is wrong eomma."
There was silence after his words were said and Jungkook didn't expect it to be, he closed his eyes again knowing that the touches his scalp was getting provided with were also coming down to a halt.
"I have apologized to Taehyung about it. I was just concerned for you." She tried to explain. "I thought he was planning to reject you."
He hummed. "Apologizing and feeding Taehyung Jin hyung's heat inducing tablet after lying to him that it was his vitamin pill." He laughed. "Very…" he trailed off to find the correct word. "convincing? Way of apologizing."
Again he didn't think his mother would have nothing to say, he still remembers how his blood boiled when Taehyung told him that he was given his vitamins by Areum a night before he had his heat— the omega wasn't directly questioned of course, he just asked Taehyung on a random day who gave him his vitamins the night before and boom! There you have your 'guilty' Your Honour.
But he didn't think his mother would be guilty.
She seemed shocked and honestly it's the reaction he didn't think she would depict and the shock would later mold into a face of regret.
And that's what happened, he thought knows his mother well.
"You said he was going to attend university!" She shrieked. "He would have found someone and fell in love with him!" Holding Jungkook's face in her hands he looked at her son, seemingly desperate for him to be understand her concern. "I didn't want you to be left alone."
"Not wanting to be disrespectful but…" He was going to be disrespectful. "You sound so dumb right now— actually I don't think you use your mature part of brain anymore. Just plain stupid." See, he just disrespected his mother and he was actually surprised with himself that he didn't feel any guilt for it.
She looked aghast, she probably was extremely pissed off after hearing his words, her eyes were literally twitching and the withering look he got from his mother— he remembers seeing it the time he refused to be trained as the pack's leader.
Because no joke, she was completely against his decision but for her husband's sake she had to act like she was supportive, but Jungkook deep down always knew that his mother till now wasn't happy with his decision.
"Did you just disrespect your mother for that rogue werewolf?" She scoffed, arms crossing around her chest seeing Jungkook sit up, her eyes sharp as she glared at him. "Did you just say those words to me because of some mere omega?"
"I wasn't trying to be disrespectful." He was. "I was just trying to get this through your head that you are so gross…? And a very interfering personality." Oh, yeah. He did it again— the disrespecting thing— on purpose.
"Jungkook, mind your tongue." She sneered, hands fisting against her nightgown.
"I hope you minded your tongue and your actions against my mate a few months ago." He yawned. "Would have been an honour actually and definitely not that hard to be done." The casualty in his tone was surely getting under his mother's skin.
"Jungkook—"
"I don't want to have any conversation with you anymore." He glared at his mother standing up fixing his hair before walking towards the door gripping the handle, he looked over his shoulder. "Honestly, I thought you'd deny it and trust me eomma." Turning back he tilted his head, eyes holding anguish and sorrow. "I would have believed you but after all this, I never will."
