Chapter 42 - Together

Taehyung couldn't help but keep glancing at the side view mirror of the car, the wind passing by teasingly playing with his hair but his eyes were just admiring the mark on his neck, it seemed a bit swollen but seemed to look like that the bruise just belonged there.

He was mated to Jungkook. The alpha was his forever. They were finally together.

The thought itself made him squeal internally, reaching out to slightly brush his fingers over the engraved mark, shivering at the slightest touch, reminiscing those intimate and very obsene moments, just happened two days ago.

And now today they were going to the pack house for a dinner showing up first time as mated mates, it was a thing to be sort of celebrated and Namjoon said he also had a good news, that reminds him—

"You should have a talk with Joonie hyung." Taehyung mumbled, looking up at Jungkook, seeing the alpha warily glance at him with a raised eyebrow, surely wanting him to say further so he did, sitting up straight, turning his body more towards the raven head, hand coming to rest on the other's thigh. "Patch things up with hyung, Koo…"

Jungkook held his hand up and silenced the omega. "Keep your words to you." He rolled his tongue on his inner cheek, trying his best not to get irritated. "I don't hate Namjoon, I don't. But patching shit up is not something I would personally want to do. I can't forgive nor forget." Glancing at Taehyung again he could see the younger one was sulking and that made him sigh but he said nothing further.

"I… please?" Taehyung gulped when he again was greeted with a sharp look, the look which obviously said he shouldn't speak further, yet he did, he needed to get rid of this bitterness between the two brothers. "You know Joon hyung was just paranoid, he wanted to protect me, you, both of us." He fisted on the trousers Jungkook wore seeing the alpha's eyes briefly flicker down to it. "It was necessary, needed. Please understand his side too, keep yourself in his position."

Hearing the alpha exhale a breath through his nose, Taehyung bit down on his bottom lip, gnawing at it briefly, eyes solely focused on Jungkook who had his jaw locked in a tight clench, eyebrows drawn together in annoyance.

"What would you do? If you were in Joon hyung's place?" He shot his questions, seeing the crease between Jungkook's eyebrows go deeper and this time he could sense the feelings of the alpha— it was just pure anger leaving a sour taste on his tongue— yet again, he pushed the matter. "He knows how this alpha instinct thing works, he was scared for both of us—"

"You are saying it for the second time." Jungkook butted in, turning the wheel while his hand changed the gear, in the process swatting Taehyung's hand away from his leg not bothering to even react at how the omega's face dulled.

"That's not what I want you to think of…" Taehyung brought his hands closer and shoved it between his thighs trying to shake off the bitter feeling settling on his chest, "I just want you and Joon hyung to be like you were before, together." He sighed looking out of the window not saying anything any further, this kind of silence was awkward and heavy for him, suffocating at a certain level with an appropriate context too.

On the other hand, Jungkook thought about those words again and again, he agreed that whatever alpha he is today, the respectful and composed and the man all the lower ranks feel safe around, he was this person he is today because of Namjoon.

Discipline is not something a person is born with, it's the elders around who infuse discipline. He knew whatever Namjoon did was for him not to regret doing something he wouldn't want— to succumb to his instincts because teenage is a very delicate phase, these days are where puberty hits and everything else along with emotions go haywire and distort— he understands it all.
