Chapter 14: Moving On
Author's Note: Hello! Sorry it's been a bit longer. Catching up on school after being out for 2 weeks is really doing a number on me. Also it's easier to post shorter chapters frequently but, this one was a longer one than I originally planned.
While I wasn't typing this chapter I was working on my plans for the sequel and organizing my story web. It's coming along well!

[Omniscient POV]
Gray was left feeling empty after the talk with Juvia's Older Brother. Even though he agreed to it, he couldn't help but feel uneasy. The idea of causing Juvia more grief in life was worse.
As he packed his bag with all of his textbooks in pursuit to go home, he started brainstorming ideas. He didn't know how Gajeel expected him to just back away from his sister. They lived together for god's sake. It's not going to be an easy task for him.
He knew deep down, he wasn't always the nicest to Juvia. However, over time he developed feelings for her that he couldn't verbalize out loud. It was already difficult for him to live down how he treated her at first, he was a jerk and kept a wall up that drove everyone away. Juvia just might've been Gray's first real friend in a long time. Juvia could possibly be more than that if he unlocked his guarded heart.
Whether he liked it or not, whatever choice he was going to make would lead to hurting Juvia in some sort of way. He felt like the best way was to rip it off like a bandaid. He had an idea, but he hated himself for what he was going to have to do.
Daphne moved to the other side of the Library after Gajeel yelled at her. She was nearly glued to her book as she studied each page. Her focus was only on her book in front of her, she barely noticed Gray approaching her.
It was a rare sight to see, because more often than not it was always her making an effort to spend time with him. Gray even slid to the seat right next to her and scooted closer.
Once Gray caught her attention, she shifted a hundred percent of her focus towards him, "Oh, Gray Baby?"
Gray felt his mind cringe a bit, "Hey. Um... You busy?"
Daphne threw the book across the room. It hurled to the other side of the bookshelf behind her, followed by the sound of a man yelling, "Ouch!" loudly behind them.
She fluffed her hair a bit and acted like she didn't just do that, "Always time for you, Gray-poo!"
'Gross, another nickname,' He internally cringed. However he forced himself to choke down the disgust, "Heh, yeah. Um, are you busy this weekend?"
Daphne impulsively shrieked with so much joy, "OH MY GOSH! I AM TOTES FREE!" She said loudly in the middle of the library.
Levy popped up around the bookshelf and shushed them, "Guys, this is a library. Let's keep it quiet please!"
"Sorry!" Gray bowed politely.
"Where are we going! What are we doing? What time did you want to pick me up? What should I wear?" Daphne was bombarding Gray with an overwhelming number of questions that Gray himself didn't know how to answer.
"Um," He gave it some thought, "Why don't you tell me. Just send me a text later today or something."
She squealed again with delight, "Ok!" She squeezed Gray tightly, making Gray uncomfortable, "I'm going to leave now, I hope you'll miss me!" She winked at him.
Gray winced, "Uh, yeah, sure whatever."
As she left the Library, Gray waited until she was completely out of site and earshot. He let out the most disappointed sigh, then headed home himself.
