Sebastian awoke first the next morning. Carefully slipping out of the bed, knowing Jamie needed her rest after the night they'd had, he got himself ready for the day as quietly as possible. After ordering some room service for breakfast for the two of them, Seb made himself a small cup of coffee and took a seat on the balcony, just watching the waves roll peacefully in the quiet of the morning.
He sipped at his drink, savoring the feeling of its warmth. His mind was racing with thoughts. Thoughts that he couldn't bring himself to share with Jamie just yet. Thoughts like how he felt about her, how much she meant to him, and why, deep down, he didn't want this to ever end. It's been a month, that's it. A month. You can't truly love someone you just met. Can you?
Seb knew his feelings for her were true enough, but he also understood that sometimes, things happen that make you question yourself. Why do I feel so strongly for her? Why does it scare me every time she looks at me? Hell, I'm not even sure I know what love is anymore.
Caught up in his thoughts, Seb didn't notice that Jamie had joined him until she spoke. "Morning." She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning down to place a soft kiss on his cheek.
"Morning, sweetheart," Seb replied with a smile. "I ordered us some breakfast, I hope that's okay? I know you needed your rest, so I didn't want to wake you."
Jamie smiled and pressed another lingering kiss to his cheek then his neck. "That's sweet of you. I'm feeling famished if I'm honest." She moved to sit in the chair across from him and looked out at the ocean. "Are we staying for a while? Or are you wanting to get back?" she asked softly. "I know we have to go back today, but when are you wanting to go?"
"We have a couple of hours before we have to check out, but other than that we can head back any time," he told her. "We're in no real rush today."
"Did you want to do anything before we go back? We didn't go by the shops like I suggested on Friday night," she commented. "Or the aquarium."
Seb chuckled, "We never went to the canals either," he said. "We can go anywhere you'd like to, sweetheart. We can have breakfast, check out early, and hit the pier before it gets too busy?"
Jamie nodded. "I really like that idea. Maybe we can get a little memento for Chris while we're out."
"Sounds like a plan to me," he agreed. A knock at the door took their attention. "That's probably our food," Seb said, "I'll grab it." He stood from his chair and headed inside the room.
"What did you order?" she called out, a bright smile on her face as she watched him walk inside.
"Nothing special," he called back over his shoulder as he opened the door. Taking the plates from the young man standing outside the room, he thanked him then shut the door again. He brought the food, and their drinks, out to the balcony and set them on the table.
"It smells good, that's for sure," Jamie said, licking her lips. She reached for one of the glasses of orange juice that Sebastian had sat down then took a drink.
Seb lifted the lids off of the plates, setting them aside. Eggs, sausage, and bacon on one plate, while the other held some pancakes and fruit. "Feel free to take from either one, sweetheart. I didn't know what you might be in the mood for, so I got us a little variety," he told her.
Jamie smiled at Sebastian's thoughtfulness before she reached across and grabbed a sausage link and took a bite. "Everything looks so good."
Seb laughed lightly. "Well, after last night, you need to get your strength back," he joked as he picked up a piece of bacon, taking a small bite.
