Jamie dropped Sebastian off at Chris' house and kept her word to Sebastian, deciding to go shopping in the nicer side of town. She parked her car in a nearby parking lot, grabbed her bag, and got out of her car before beginning to walk the street.
It didn't take long for her to find a nice dress shop and walk inside just as her cellphone rang. She smiled seeing the contact. "Hi Grace, I'm sorry I didn't see you anymore today. My uncle told me to leave after he was done talking to me."
"Damn," Grace said, "Was he mad about you quitting?"
"He tried to tear into me, but I stood my ground," Jamie answered as she looked through a rack of clothing. "Although he really pissed me off when he tried to throw Sebastian at me. I won't stand for that shit."
"I'm glad you stood your ground, but how does he even know about Sebastian?" Grace asked, knowing they had been trying to keep the relationship private so far.
Jamie sighed as she picked up a red dress and hooked it over her arm before looking some more. "There's a few photos out there from our first date. I don't know if there's more than that, but I tend to stay away from all of it."
"Oh," Grace replied quietly. "Well, look, I mean, he probably just said it to get under your skin. You know how your uncle is. He saw his normal tactics failing, so he tried something else."
"I don't know, Grace. He's normally an ass, but this time he knew just how to take a jab at me. I came back to my apartment and cried." She sighed and walked to the next rack against the far wall of the store. "If Sebastian wasn't home to calm me, I don't know how I would be right now to be honest."
"You'd be just fine. You're stronger than you give yourself credit for," Grace assured her friend. "And look at the bright side. You don't have to deal with your uncle anymore, and you get to spend more time with your lover-boy," she teased.
Jamie laughed as she put another dress over her arm. "Can you believe he's actually sent me out shopping for a couple of outfits today? Apparently, he's planning a date for us tomorrow night, but he won't tell me what we're doing."
"Jealous!" Grace exclaimed, "He always takes you to the best places. What are you going to wear?"
"I'm looking for a red dress at the moment. He's not with me, so I'd like to find something to surprise him." Jamie turned and walked to the clerk so she could go to the fitting room. "His favorite color is red, so I think it's a good color to go with."
"He sent you shopping alone? Where is he?" she asked.
Jamie smiled as she walked into the fitting room and shut the door behind her. "He's at Chris' helping him run lines. I'm going there after I'm done shopping."
"Sounds fun," Grace replied. "Who would have ever thought you'd be shopping for new clothes, for a date with Sebastian Stan," she added with a laugh.
"Not me," Jamie laughed. She put Grace on speaker and stripped out of her clothes to try on the first dress. "Hell, I remember you making fun of me for liking him so much."
Grace giggled. "That's because you were borderline obsessed, Jamie!" she argued. "Now look at you. Buying a new dress just to go on a date with the man. Not to mention all the fun you get to have with him behind closed doors," she added.
A shiver rolled down Jamie's back at the thought. "Girl, when I'm able to, I will have to tell you some details," she laughed. Jamie pulled on the dress and looked at herself in the mirror before sighing. "I don't have enough boob to fill this dress," she grumbled.
"Yes... Yes, you will," Grace laughed.
"I will, I promise," Jamie laughed. She got out of the dress and put it back on the hanger before she began to try on the next one. "Are you on lunch?" she asked. "If you're not, I don't want to keep you on the phone."
