I'm impatient, I didn't wanna proof read.

"And then he makes a 180 and says he'll just protect me. He's so suspicious, like hell I'm ever gonna fully trust him."

Eda tilts her head up. "I'm shocked that little twerp even let you go. That's a story everyone is gonna tell for years." She chuckled.

"Nobody is gonna know. He may be suspicious but he definitely is adamant in not turning me in. He's actually protecting me." Y/n explains, resting her head in her hand. "Man, I wish we could just leave the Boiling Isles. We'd have so much freedom."

"Yeah, well there doesn't seem like any place to go, otherwise I wouldn't still be here waiting to be turned to stone." Eda smiles, as a memory came back to her. "I almost did once. Got up to my stomach."

"Really? You got caught?" Y/n responds, surprised

"That's a story for another time." Eda waved her hand to shoo the subject off. "I don't see a reason to not trust him other than he's Belos' minion. If he is actually taking care of you like a friend, I'd say he's taken a liking to you." Eda says, almost in a teasing manner.

"If that's true I guess that benefits me a whole lot." Y/n says glancing down at the table. "There's no way he would ever stab me in the back if he cared enough." She put her pointer finger on her chin as if to think. "I could probably take advantage of that if I needed to."

"You think he would?" King asked, hopping up into Eda's lap.

Y/n shrugged. "Like I said, he suspicious. And I don't trust anyone following Belos! I just gotta be cautious around him, I guess."

"What, do you spend a lot of time around him?" Eda raised an eyebrow. Her feet now kicked up on the table and one hand patting King while the other rested her elbow on the table.

"It seems I can't even walk around the forest without running into Goldy. It's like he's constantly looking for me; like he thinks I'll get into trouble again." She rolled her eyes, mocking the word Goldy like she hates it even though it was of her own creation.

Eda and King snorted at the name she called him. "Well, I've dealt with him before. From what I know, he's tricky." Y/n leaned over to listen. "He'll guilt trip you then stab you in the back, but only because he's scared of Belos." Eda turns her head away to think back. "I can't imagine what the Emperor does to his subordinates. And that's one of the many reason I stay away."

"He's scared of Belos? But he seems so loyal to him," Y/n states. "that's why I was so shocked when he offered to help me behind his back."

"Well, I haven't seen it myself but Amity told me about the trauma she saw in his eyes." She says. "Trust me, it's bad. It sounds like he would resort to death over returning to Belos empty handed."

"I saw it! It was really depressing to watch." King says, proudly.

"That's right, you were with Amity when that happened, huh." Eda says and rubs his head. "The guy is crazy but he's been getting a little better. He's even hiding things from Belos. Like a little rebel." Y/n perks her head in curiosity. "He has a palisman of his own, he's been studying wild magic in secret, and he's protecting you." She clicks her tongue.

Y/n hummed. She knows how much the emperor hates wild magic. She uses it out of spite for him. "How do you know all this?"

Eda snickered. "Ah, my sister gifted me a scrying potion before she went home with mom. I've used it to mess with and spy on the Emperor's coven. It's a fun time."

"Wait, you have a potion to spy on them?" Y/n stands up from her seat. "I could use that to see Goldy's true intentions! You gotta let me borrow it!"
