32 - He's Right Though

Y/n wanted to go see Makashi again to see if he was doing okay so left the house immediately after the events of last chapter. Marley wanted to know more, Nanako wanted to see her again, and Y/n wanted to make sure everything was going okay and see if they needed guidance or something.

Hunter was still a little warry and stayed close to her side while also wondering why she walked everywhere instead of flying. He felt a little scared of getting lost from her side but he wasn't even sure he was following her right now. The illusions stopped during the intensity of last night but started again as soon as they left the house. She disappeared from his sight but he caught it before he completely lost her by grabbing her bag lightly so she couldn't feel the tug. Though he's still warry. Can illusions affect touch too?

They arrived at the hospital but had to sneak in because she wouldn't be allowed in due to her record. They found the room and met Nanako outside the door on the phone but once she saw the two approaching she said bye and hung up. "Y/n! Hunter!" She ran up excitedly and wrapped her arms around the two. "I just wanted to say, last night! Thank you so much for everything, especially you!" She looks to Y/n. "I can't thank you enough. My dad is just as grateful."

Y/n smiles with a feeling of fulfillment. "How is everyone? Is there anything I can do?"

"Everything is going okay right now. Makashi healed fine and he's supposed to leave today." She explains. "My dad wanted to talk to you though. To uh, know more? I thought you told him everything on the way though."

"I guess there are some minor things he didn't get to hear." Y/n shrugs. "It's good to hear everything is good though, I'm glad."

They approuch the door and Y/n raises her hand to knock but freezes to listen to hear what Makashi was saying for a second. It sounded like he was talking to Marley.

"You can't say that after what they did for you and Nanako."

"Ever since they came around bad things have been happening!" Makashi seemed to yell. "It's only been 2 days and they wasted your merchandise, broke our door, and got us kidnapped!"

"They had nothing to do with you two getting taken! They helped you!" Marley snapped back.

"It doesn't sit right with me how she happened to be there when we were too..." He hissed through his teeth. "Would you stop being so nice to everybody? They're criminals, aren't they? They steal, they run, they break rules and everyone involved with their name has to pay. I don't want us to have to pay anymore than we already have."

Y/n glanced to the door knob then to Nanako and whispered. "I don't think he wants us here." She shrugged and Nanako wore a concerned guilt on her face. "I'll just wait for your dad to come out-"

"Hey!" A nurse yelled and called for security. Of course someone recognized her so fast.

Y/n sighs. "I'll talk to your dad later once you're all out of the hospital. Don't worry, everything will be fine." She says, referring to the other bad guys that Nanako was clearly worried about. Y/n then grabbed Hunter's wrist and dragged him along as they ran. "Promise!"

Nanako watched in silence as they fled with security zooming past. Wait, was that it? She thought and looked back at the door.

Makashi was a protective person that really wanted the best for his friends and family but he's never spoken like that before. He's never said anything remotely bad about anyone or used that kind of tone.

Is she just gonna listen to Makashi and not associate with us again?

She opens the door to Makashi and Marley sitting in silence. "Y/n and Hunter just left."
