23 - Knowing More

The two went home to tell Eda the news. Y/n was very excited about it and Hunter was a bit happy but really not as excited as she was. They both needed some time to rest and they sure were gonna take advantage of the rest of the day to lay down and do nothing.

"Eda! We got a job! I won't live rent-free anymore!" Y/n joked and ran up to her.

Eda stood up from the couch in shock. "What do you mean a job, you went out for 20 minutes."

"Marley said that we can work for him instead of paying for the items. I and Hunter are a couple of his first hires for his new business." She explained proudly. "He said we can have a uniform and everything, though I'm the one who asked for a uniform and he told us to make ones ourselves." Hunter laughed. "But more importantly!"

Y/n stands next to Hunter and holds up his hand that held the little green potion bottle. "He can leave his coven now!"

Hunter smiled and held the bottle up to present it himself. "Yeah, finally. I guess it's just a really good day."

"It's the best day!" Y/n shook him by the arm. "But we should get rest before tomorrow. When do you want to remove your coven seal?"

"Oh, uh." He tilted his head. "Let's just go right now." He opened the bottle and slowly tipped it for a single drop to fall onto the inside of his right wrist. The seal seemed to fade away in a patchy manner and over the span of 7 to 8 seconds it was completely gone. "This doesn't feel real..."

"But it is!" Y/n exclaimed and hugged him from the side. "You have a new life now. How do you feel?"

He stared at his wrist and a smile slowly formed. "Refreshed."

It was about midnight now and everyone was asleep. Except for Y/n. She lied awake reading because she couldn't force herself to sleep. But with what little light she had it started hurting her eyes so she decided to put it away. She sat in silence in the room. Hunter against the wall to her left and Luz against the wall on her right. Both soundly asleep and she was awake. Not even an ounce of sleepiness. What was wrong with her?

There was no hope for sleep that night so she decided to go out to town for a while, hoping that the walking around would help her feel sleepy. She went alone but unfortunately as she was leaving she made just enough noise to alarm Hunter into consciousness. He didn't process what he saw when she walked out the door but he did see that she was no longer in the room so saw her from the window when he got up to go look for her.

She headed out to an area where no houses were so she wouldn't disturb anyone's sleep. But it was a playground. She hung around there for awhile, messing around on the toys.

She balance on the sea saw, played hop scotch by herself, walked across the money bars before falling face first into the rocks. She seemed to be having fun, like a kid. That seemed to be her intention; to act like a kid.

Hunter decided to let her be and watch her from where he was, which was hidden enough to not be seen.

Eventually her Palisman came out and played around with her and from what he could see, she was having the time of her life. But he didn't want to stay watching her the entire time.

He walked over as her back was turned and threw a rock at the hop scotch game and let it roll until it landed on 8. She looked back as she heard the rock and to see him. "Is this how you play?" He asked, referring to hop scotch.

She was surprised to see him but smiled and nodded. "Yeah, then you hop to where your rock landed and... Well I don't know what you do next." She laughed. He played while she asked him. "Did I wake you up?"
