18 - Someone's Weakness

Y/n sat there for hours, just reading a book and occasionally looking back to see if he woke up or moved or was still breathing. Nothing happened, it's been 5 hours, it's 2am and she refuses to sleep. "If you're not gonna wake up yourself I'm gonna go out and find a way myself." She muttered like she was talking to him but really she knew she was talking to herself. She took her statement seriously too.

Another hour passed and she got restless so went out. Maybe to the library, there was probably information. So she grabbed her Palisman and quietly left.

She flew to the location to avoid a long path and halfway there someone joined her in the sky. "Dandelion?"

Willow met Y/n at her side and explained. "Amity let me use her work key to the library. I wanna know what's going on too." She says and they quicken their pace.

Willow opened the big doors as quietly as she could and the entered, locking them behind them and they began searching immediately. "It's called an Aopai; that's what Eda called it." Y/n says and they head for the A section. It didn't take long to find it and there was only 1 information book. They only hoped it had some answers.

The sat in that hallway section and flipped through the pages, reading each word.

"The Aopai (Lao for "Take away") is a hostile creature towards any life form. Though it's own form is very weak, it has the ability to possess life forms and they often do this to pray on victims. These victims have been reported to be the closest person to the person the Aopai encounters. So the creature will possess this person to attack their loved one, or go after the victim themselves and possess them to commit suicide.
    The Aopai has little mass to itself. It's a ghost like presence that doesn't seem to have a core or body of any type and the only way to kill it, according to victims of the creature, is to submerge it in fire for long enough to melt each particle that is of itself.
        If you find that you have been possessed by the creature, stay as far away from your loved ones who it might attack and find a seller who has a potion by the name of "Pidekay".

Now if we are talking abnormal Aopai, you must go see a curse expert (I recommend Cragthar if he is still alive and working as your reading this). The curse expert will surely be able to help you and if not, worry not. The potion that I mentioned previously can keep it at bay until you find away to get it out of you. There is an advanced version of it that should heal the curse immediately. Just ask for Pidekay advanced and they should have it. Yes it hurt when the creature entered you but the extraction process is near harmless.

How to spot an abnormal Aopai:
While regular old Aopais are small and purple, abnormal Aopais are large and pure black. They have a thunderous voice and they are in fact painful to have enter your body. As for why abnormals came to be, I don't really know. Aopai's need to feed off the souls of life forms so maybe it's a leveling system but that's just a random guess.

Y/n smiles as she skims through the book. "This is a relief, though I don't know where to find a curse expert right now..." She scratches her head. "Much less this Cragthar."

Willow pulled out her phone. "Maybe somebody else knows. I'll look around."

Suddenly they hear the creek of a door and they panic. "Let's go." She says and they get on their Palisman, reaching a window and quietly exiting it.

"An abnormal Aopai... Why an abnormal for the first one I see?" Y/n shakes her head.

"I found a Cragthar. And it says he's at the night market every night." Willow claims while scrolling through a web search.
