It was dark out at this point and Hunter had become nervous to approach the Owl house. He had his staff ready to paralyze Hooty so he didn't interrupt him. So he went up, paralyzed Hooty with an apology, got a pebble from the ground, and threw it up to Y/n's open window, with perfect aim.
The pebble hit the back of Y/n's head as she sat in her room reading a book under the covers. She was a little confused but regardless went to shut her window that she had let open to keep the room cool.
When she reached for the handle she caught sight of the blonde looking up at her window, waving to get her attention. She narrowed her eyes and gave him the bird before slamming the window shut with a grin on her face.
Eda heard the bang from the window and got up to check on Y/n. "What's going on?" She asks, mumbling her words as she was waking up.
Y/n snickered and pointed to her window. "Lookie."
Eda walked up to the window and looked down to see Goldy writing something in the dirt with his staff. "He's a desperate simp." She chuckled. "Let him go on, I'm curious."
Y/n crossed her arms. "Yeah, so am I." She says, but with actual heartfelt curiosity rather than 'let's see what he does then kick him out'. She didn't want to be too evil.
Once he finished, he threw another pebble up and they both looked out.
"I promise you will like what I say"
Eda looked to Y/n and she shrugged. So she had Eda leave for the moment and opened the window with one of the rocks from her bag in her hand. "You got one minute." She say down to him.
Hunter sighed and tried to explain in the little time. "I've been working Belos for years, I know. But the more time I spend with you the more I realize that he is in the wrong." Y/n rolled her eyes and gestured at throwing the rock down on his head. Hunter became more panicked. "And! And I see now that the freedom of the people is more important than the plans he's told me about so I'm on your side of the argument!" He stuttered. "You've been without a home and family for years and I feel bad. I want to help you because I could have been like that but someone found me and I will always be thankful to him for taking me in, but-"
"Times up!" She exclaimed and threw the rock down at him. Hunter gasped and backed up a step to avoid collision and watched her leave the window view without closing it behind her. But he still had more to say so used his staff to float up to her window to talk to her.
When he got his footing on the ledge, he looked up to see her holding a familiar piece of paper up to present it to him then rip it in half. "What was that?"
"A fucking gesture to you that you will never say anything to me that will make me trust you again." She says and continues tearing it up until he walked over to her and stopped her.
He placed his hands on top of hers and she stopped. "Stop, listen!" He sighed and backed up to give her her space. "I want you to hide in the human realm." Y/n's expression grew quickly as the words escaped his mouth. After standing there frozen for too long he became nervous. "That sounds ridiculous, I know but what I think is that if you a went in this world, you wouldn't need a coven path for Belos' plans to work anyway."
"Then what?" She asks, with little belief in her voice. "He completes his plans, finds the human world, makes everyone abide to him then no one in the human realm is free anymore either." Hunter sighs. She was right, and he felt stupid for not thinking of that earlier. "I said I wanted everyone to have their freedom, the only way that could happen is if Belos was dead... But I'm not a monster, and even though I hate him with everything I own, I would never wish or provoke death onto someone."
Hunter looks down at the floor to think. "I don't know what to do..."
Y/n places a hand on her hip. "I don't know what suddenly made you have a change of heart. The other day you were asking me to join the coven, but now I'm just confused." She shakes her head and chuckles. "But after this conversation, I am having a hard time hating you." Hunter glances up to her, awkwardly. "So, what else do you have in mind, Goldy?"
He hesitated and pulled up his sleeve to look at the coven patch on his arm. "I think I should leave the Emperor's Coven..."
