S2 - chapter 4

Saanp bhi mar jaye aur (let the snake die and) ...

"Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada?" a police inspector along with 2 other constables directly walked in RM, and everyone got up from the breakfast table at this surprise visit from the police. In the meanwhile, Arnav Khushi too had come down stairs, having heard the question already.

"Ji, that's me. What happened?" Khushi sprinted forward even before Arnav could react. Khushi's first fear was something happened to her parents, or buaji, she knew that shyam was capable of anything.

"You will have to come with us to the police station. There's a complaint against you" the inspector informed the reason of his visit and Khushi and everybody else were left dumbfounded. Who would file a complaint against khushi? and why? 

A lady constable came near Khushi to take her with them amongst the silence, when ASR roared

"You are not taking my wife anywhere." Arnav held khushi back by her arm and came to stand in front of her, shielding her. Khushi looked over at Shyam, but he seemed as confused. So maybe he wasn't behind this. then who, khushi wondered.

"Mr. Raizada, we have orders. Don't take law in your hands." The inspector tried to intervene but he didn't know who he was talking to. In fact he didn't even know if his orders were right as he hadnt asked many questions to the old lady, and soon will know folly in his action

"I am not, let me speak to our lawyer and your commissioner. But until I do that, you won't touch her. And can you tell us who filed the complaint?" Arnav demanded but before the inspector could answer, they heard another voice from behind,

"I did. This girl has broken our house." There stood Subhadra Malik, Arnav's Dadi, at the threshold of Shantivan. If earlier visit from the police had been surprising, this one was shocking for everyone, especially for Arnav. But his shock quickly went to confusion,

"Dadi? What do you mean you filed the complaint? You haven't ever met her."

"I don't need to. I know she has broken this house, that was enough" she said throwing a subtle glance at Shyam which all, but Khushi missed. Khushi quickly made mental note of this new threat, Arnavji's Dadi and Shyam were together?

By this time however, inspector realized he had missed something big, as he couldn't see any physical damage to this house, if the old lady mentioned her house was broken and if this was her house. That was when Subhadra Malik told she meant Khushi had been creating problems in her grandchildren's life, and especially her damad(son-in-law)-Shyam's life.

After hearing this although there was an insane rage building inside Arnav, one thing got clear that he wouldn't even need to call anyone, as what dadi was saying wasn't even a punishable crime, but a family feud. Arnav looked at the police as if saying, 'now what?' and the inspector quickly apologized that he should inquired more about the offense the old lady was mentioning.

"Maaji, you shouldn't have wasted our time for a family matter. We are so sorry Mrs. Khushi, sorry, Mr. Raizada for this inconvenience." the inspector apologized to khushi and arnav and arnav dismissed them. he had more serious matter to handle.

"Dadi. What was that? And who told you all this?" Arnav almost blasted at Dadi

"kisi ne bhi bataya ho but its truth right? she's a homewrecker." she spoke in the same cold tone, not even looking at arnav's direction, not even realizing her accusations had made him boil with anger!

"Dadi-" he had almost marched to her when Khushi stopped him, as she had already sensed the matter by now! for now, she needed to talk to arnav in private.
