Updating a day early than schedule, you guys gave such a whooping response on previous chapter, it compelled me to update sooner (see, I am a good girl :D)

IMP note for those who haven't watched the show or forgotten some scenes: In the bachelor party night episode (when they -you know, consummated), Khushi had promised Arnav that she will not let any 'chudail (witch)' come near him and if one comes, she will take her life. I am going to refer that scene here. Also, in the show when they asked arnav to go to aarav's school as his father(😒), arnav had vehemently refused at first (thank god!) so I will be referring that too...

When Khushi returned home that evening, Arnav was already home and from the looks of it, looked disturbed too. But before she could ask, he got a phone call and she left to get freshened up and then heading downstairs. It had been a long day and now she was hungry. She also had a news to share with the family.

Soon as HP served the food, Khushi broached the subject

"Naniji, are you free tomorrow evening?"

Devyani Raizada had seen how her granddaughter-in-law had taken her advice very well and had been holding herself up very strongly. And she was sure, soon her grandson will learn his lesson too. She could be patient until then,

"Zarur (sure) bitiya, but what is the occasion?" she asked lovingly, and everyone also looked at Khushi expectantly,

"Actually, tomorrow is a charity event and a dinner organized by Delhi's mayor and Premji has gotten an invite, so he asked me to come and bring you all too."

Arnav frowned a little. Of course, he knew about this event and was planning to go with Khushi, only Khushi. But looks like her "friend" beat him to it

"Ee toh zabardast wali newz hai phat-Khushi bitiya, hum kal subah hi beauty parlor hoke ayenge (this is an amazing news Khushi, I will go to salon tomorrow morning itself)" Mamiji excitedly replied making everyone smile

"par kya fayda, zuban toh kadwi hi rahegi na (what's the use, you will still have bitter tongue)." mamaji mumbled under his breath and Khushi, Payal and even Akash hid their laughter under pretense of a cough.

"Bhaat (what) did you say?" mamiji asked, narrowing her eyes

And before anyone could say anything to change the topic, Shital spoke

"Arnav isn't it the same party for which AR also got an invite?"

"we get invited every year shital. but I am not going this time." he declared his decision and looked at faces of his family, especially Khushi, hoping they will say something. For a minute he thought Khushi wanted to say something but shital beat her to it, interfering again

"Great, I will also not go. There's a function in Aarav's school tomorrow." she said, looking at Anjali knowing well her reaction would be, and she didn't disappoint her either

"What kind of a function Shitalji?"

"Father's day event. but since he just has me, I will go." Shital said giving a sad look, looking down and Anjali went in deep thought

Arnav saw Khushi looking through her dresses, clearly thinking of getting prepared for tomorrow. This was getting out of hands. At first, he had hoped she would come around sooner than later but now, it was getting stretched and he didn't like it. To top it all, this new person Prem who was always chipkoed(stuck) with her also didn't sit well with him. Prem was basically everything that he was not, at least as a man who woes a woman, Prem was sweet (overly sweet, Arnav thought and scoffed), charming, good looking (well, here Arnav had an edge too) and finally, he was making her smile every damm day, something Arnav was failing to do since quite a few days. To be honest, she had hurt him, bruised his ego and he had not liked that. Because he was not used to that. But is that where he went wrong? Should he-no matter how ridiculous it sounded for him-show more 'understanding' even when she doubted his relationship with shital?
