S3 - chapter 6

Anyone missed me :D got some time this weekend so as promised, here's NSIV update:

Anjali followed Prem inside their hall in dazed state, to say she was smitten with this handsome man would be an understatement. But who was he looking for anyway? Who was this 'Senorita' in their house? She felt jealous of that girl already!

"Premji, you are here already! Please aaiye (welcome)." Khushi's cheerful voice brought a smile on Prem's face and a surprise on Anjali's. So, this man was Khushi's friend?

"My my senorita! You look gorgeous in this yellow dress. It's my favorite color, you know?" Prem complemented her while handing her a bag of sweets he had gotten like a well-mannered guest.

"Thank you Premji. You know, it's my favorite color too." Khushi said accepting the bag and the complement with a big grin. She was hearing someone praise her after a while...but her smile was short lived.

"And it's favorite color of about one billion other people on earth, if we look at it statistically!" came a stern and sarcastic voice from behind and Khushi turned to see an irritated looking Arnav standing a few feet behind her. When had he come there and why was he passing snide remarks? Khushi rolled her eyes as she thought of an equally snide remark for her 'beloved' husband!

"You're right Arnavji. The percent of cheerful people is also only that much and grumpy ones too, but aapko shayad pata hi hoga (you probably do know that)." she said in sweet voice making Arnav fume in anger and take one step towards her direction, but Nani's voice stopped him.

"Arre Khushi bitiya, your guest is here already! hamari pehchan toh karaiye mehman se (introduce us to your guest)." Nani said who had appeared there along with Mamiji

"Ji Nani, meet Premji. He is visiting here from Mumbai and he is very famous advertisement maker, woh TV pe aate hain na waise wale(the ones that come on TV), hai na Premji?"

Prem nodded and smiled at the way Khushi introduced him, and then turned to look at her family. He bent to touch nani's feet, making her super impressed with him already!

And then Khushi introduced him to Mamiji, who was standing next to a starstruck Anjali,

"Mamiji, Senorita didn't tell me there is a pretty woman living here already, otherwise I wouldn't waste so much time in auditioning a fresh face for my new project." Prem's comment made mami super happy and he smoothly earned a few more brownie points while Arnav could only scoff seeing this man making his way into good books of his family. 'Khushi has trained you so well for drama, Prem' Arnav thought in his mind!
In all this, they all missed to see Anjali blushing at every sentence Prem spoke!

Soon, they were all seated on the lunch table where Arnav and Khushi sat on their usual places, but Prem took the chair on the other side of Khushi. and soon, Arnav realized this was only the beginning of what followed of 42 minutes 35 seconds torture for him!

It was already evident that Prem and Khushi had matched their wavelength and were talking to each other like two long lost friends! It began with gushing over Kachori and Pakoras that was made as a part of lunch and then to Rabdi Jalebi to Delhi ki chaat! The food for which Arnav had mocked her often before was in fact a way to her heart and reason to bring that gorgeous smile on her lips! For a moment, he too wanted to smile seeing her happy, but remembering how stubborn she had been through last few days and his own resolve made him stop.

And then they started talking about Salman Khan's movies and to Arnav's horror, Prem was in fact a huge 'fanboy'! Turned out that his name 'Prem' was inspired from his parents' love for salman's name from 'Maine pyar kiya' movie! And Prem had carried that legacy of love for Sallu movies!
