4. Enchanted

He was looking at her all dazed. And rightfully so, she was an epitome of beauty and grace, with so much of innocence shining on her face and reflecting in her eyes. He had never seen anyone as mesmerizing as her. At that moment, nothing else occurred to him, not his so-called girlfriend-whom his family was pressurizing him to get married to, not his nani, not his di, heck, not he himself. All that mattered, all that existed in that moment was HER.

His feet took him towards her, reaching just few meters away from her, near enough to breathe the air that had her fragrance mixed with it.

Khushi sensed his presence behind her and froze! Although her plan for tonight was set, she felt her heartbeat increasing with fear. She stood up, took a deep breath, and turned. But probably, that was a wrong step, probably looking in his eyes was a mistake. His eyes held her captive, and she forgot her move.

He extended his hand to her and she placed her hand in it, as if in trance. He helped her move out of the maze of diya's she had created around her and led her to the patio alongside the hall.

"Are you guys ready?" Shyam asked his men.

"Yes sir, as planned Khushi madam has succeeded in separating ASR from the main party and they are heading to the patio. We are all set"

"Great! Just make sure you don't miss a single moment and capture from all correct angles, ok?"

"You got it sir"

Shyam smiled hearing that. At last he and Khushi were near to their revenge. He, for his father, who was murdered by this family and Khushi, for someone very close to her!

Khushi was taking each step, still enchanted.

But slowly she caught her breath and control over her heart. And she remembered! The purpose for which this was all happening! They were finally close to their aim! And this would be her revenge for the family that wronged her Amma, who was not the mother who gave birth to her but still she was the one who raised her! And even though her Amma had never asked her to avenge what happened to her, Khushi had sworn revenge!

In addition to that, when she found out this family's past and particularly ASR's, she got to know he was indeed his father's son! A testimony to that was her school friend and senior Sheetal. She hadn't met Sheetal after she left high school but met again when Khushi was digging out ASR's past. Sheetal confided in her, how ASR used and dumped her!

And that made Khushi's blood boil. She was also a witness to his rude behavior to Lavanya.

That made her resolve stronger!

And then she met him in Lucknow and his behavior to her since then had been nothing but confirming her belief even more.

She was still trying to finalize her plan when co-incidentally she met Shyam one day, in Lucknow. She was not ready to believe him at first, thinking he was ASR's family but when he shared his story, she joined hands with him.

And that led to a perfect revenge plan! To bring ASR's true face in front Mr. Mittal. Mittal's deal was a big one for AR and losing it would practically mean bankruptcy. MR. Mittal being a very ethical, traditional businessman, always made sure to do business with like-minded people. And somehow Arnav Singh Raizada had made an impression just as that.

But soon, that was about to change, for Khushi was ready for a showdown! She was going ignore all those thoughts which periodically came and told her that maybe, just maybe she was wrong, maybe he was not really like his father. But she pushed those thoughts away!

She inhaled again, as she felt him backing her to a wall and leaning towards her! She closed her eyes. 'This is it', her mind said.

His breath was fanning over her face. And momentarily, she too had given into her senses. Even though at the back of her mind, she knew there was a person hiding behind the tree to capture their photographs, she knew this was a ploy to tear his image, she knew she absolutely should not feel a tinge of desire she was feeling at that moment. But still, for a fraction of a second, she wished it wasn't a plan.

He leaned in closer, their breaths mingled. His eyes closed automatically, as he lightly brushed his lips on hers. 'So soft, so perfect' he thought. He momentarily broke the contact, and then dived in!

And then, *flash*

A/N – phew. This is the other part of the main concept. So many truths finally revealed. At least the motives, as many of you have been asking. And yes, Shyam isn't really bad, or let's say, isn't having bad thoughts for Khushi.

Next chapter will be more in details about why Shyam and Khushi are so convinced about revenging on Arnav and also, will move to arshi taking a big step!
