Catching feelings

I want to throw my phone really hard on the wall.

This is so frustrating.

Bakit ba ako nag-hihintay ng text niya?

"So did he asked you out?" Napatingin kaming dalawa ni byron kay corynn and ofcourse sa tingin pa lang niya ay alam na namin ang sagot.

"Mom–"

"We know it already," sabay na sabi namin ni byron.

"Paano ka magkaka-lovelife niyan kung palaging nakikisingit ang parents mo? Gosh, corynn!" Inis na saad ni byron, "I just got laid three times noong akwe ang here you are, tigang na tigang!" Corynn's eyes widened and look around to see if any of our classmates heard what byron just said.

"Lower your voice, bitch," bulong ni corynn kay byron.

I just chuckled at them.

"Hoy, huwag kang tatawa-tawa diyan. Ano? May nangyari ba ulit sa inyo?" Ngumisi ng parang aso ang bakla at tinarayan ko lamang siya.

"Ano ba yan, ang damot ng details!"

"Era, I didn't tell you this but I saw Zone and Nathalie went home together that night," corynn said and looked at me apologetically.

"Omg, you bitch! Bakit hindi mo sinabi agad?" Napatakip sakanyang bibig si byron at tumingin siya sa akin.

I smiled at them as if I don't feel anything.

"Yes, I know..." But I really don't know that he went home with her...

"I need to pee," tumayo ako at umalis agad sa room namin.

After we danced that night, he excused himself and told me that he'd get us some snacks but hindi na siya bumalik...

So he went home with her? Baka nag-sex din sila? After he said he likes me, he will go home with some girl?!

"You are responsible for it zone. I introduced you to my family and your family knows about us. What are you gonna do? Why are you sticking with sierra?"

I heard my name when I was about to pass an empty classroom and that's when I saw them...

"I'm sorry..." Hindi makatingin si Zone kay Nathalie.

I saw how Nathalie's eyes are in rage as he looked at zone.

Fuck, sila ba?

"Stay away from sierra if you don't wanna dissapoint your family," nag-lakad papunta sa pinto si Nathalie kaya agad akong tumakbo pabalik ng classroom.

"Let's go shopping," I said after our last class.

Napatingin ang dalawa sa akin habang nag-aayos ng gamit nila.

"I just want to shop 'cause my clothes are getting old," I said and pouted at them.

Byron raised his right eyebrow at me and corynn crossed her arms.

"You're upset," byron stated.

"I'm not upset," I defended myself.

"After shopping, let's grab some dinner together," corynn smiled and continued fixing her things.

"So, why are you upset?"

"I'm not upset nga!" I said and groaned at byron.

"You know the last time you said that is when Rafa went to states,"

I raised my middle finger at byron and left them.

"Hurry up, bitches!"

I caressed the maroon dress in front of me to feel if it's somehow soft and comfortable to wear.

"I wanna try this,"

The saleslady got the dress from the rack and guided me towards the dressing room.

"Clyde?" Napatingin sa akin si clyde at lumaki ang mga mata niya nang mapansin ako, "Clyde! How are you?"

I saw how he hid his mop from me and wiped his hands before sliding it into his pockets.

"I'm sorry, Lianne. You have to see me like this," he said and was unable to directly look me in the eye.

"What? What do you mean 'like this'?" I said and furrowed my eyebrows.

That's when I realized he's wearing a Janitor's uniform...

"Hey, don't be ashamed of your work. It's okay, it's a moral job," I said and tapped his back.
"I'm sorry, I made you uncomfortable,"

"No, it's just that...all your friends are rich and...I'm not,"

"Hey, don't say that. Para kang ibang tao. We worked together at a call center company right?"

"But it's your company," he said and scratch his head.

"It's my mom's" I said and chuckled, "I never saw you again at my mom's company, did you quit?"

"Oo at tumigil na rin ako sa pag-aaral," magtatanong pa sana ako pero nakita ko ang ayaw ko sanang makita ngayon.

"Let's talk again soon, Lianne," magsa-salita pa sana ako pero dumating na agad sila Byron at corynn.

I glanced at Clyde and he walked faster just to get away from us.

Hinila ko sina byron at corynn para mag-tago sa isang rack at sinilip sina Zone at Nathalie.

"Omg, is that–" hinila ko si byron patago dahil parang pupuntahan niya pa yata ang dalawa para kumpirmahin.

"What the fuck?" I've been texting him since that night and may time pa siyang makipag-date kay Nathalie?

"See? I told you, era. They went home together that night at mag-kasama ulit sila ngayon. He's a cheater!" Saad ni corynn.

"We were never a couple, corynn," I said.

My blood boiled as Nathalie laughed at what zone said.

He's making her laugh now?

"They look good together," sinamaan ko ng tingin si byron.

"Byron!" Corynn hissed.

"What? She said they were never a couple. So, ano? FuBu lang kayo,ganon?" I rolled my eyes at byron because what he said was true.

"Diba kung Fuck Buddies lang kayo ibig sabihin...no feelings attached?" Napatingin sa akin si corynn, "why do you look upset now?" Usisa ni byron, "Are you catching feelings now, sierra lianne?"

This is the first time I don't know the answer to a question.

Madali lang yung tanong niya pero bakit hirap na hirap akong sabihin yung tamang sagot?
