He looked concerned, 'did I fuck up?' "I-," she started again but was interrupted by her phone ringing. She stood there frozen. Fez looked down at her phone, "you gonna answer that?" "Yeah, I-," she drifted off before just clicking accept call.
'Sorry' she mouthed to him before talking into the speaker. He smiled at her reassuring it was ok. "Hey Mads. What's up?" Nothing but a soft sniffle was heard.
"I'm so sorry to do this to you but I need you," she said into the phone. "I know you are with Fezco right now and I was the one to encourage you to go for it. But Kat is god knows where with Ethan and Jules walked out mid conversation because Rue needed her." "Its ok, I understand. Where are you?"
"I'm at the bowling alley, but I don't have a car. Can you pick me up?" "I'll get there, don't worry about it. Only one little problem, I have my bike so it might take a while," Lexi said shyly. 'This is a good way to continue talking with her,' fez thought.
"It's getting late, I'll take you and Maddy home. Don't want you two alone at this time. Not that y'all can defend yourselves." She smiled shyly up at him. "Are you sure," she asked him.
"What did he say? Are you good?" "Yes, let's get you to where you need. So you can be the good friend I know you are," he smiled at her. "Fez offered to take us home."
"Oh he's down bad," Maddy chuckled through her tears. "Just hop in while I put your bike in the trunk," he said as he grabbed her bike. He began folding it so it could fit. She shyly slipped into the passenger seat. "We will be there soon," Lexi assured her friend.
"I'm going to hide in the alley. I can't be seen like this," Maddy sobbed before hanging up. "Where to?" She glanced at his hand on the center console organizer. She had flashbacks of all the cars her sister made her ride along in, the boys always rested their hand on her sister's thigh.
She imagined how it would feel, having Fez's large hand on her thigh. Just the thought of it made her face get red. "The bowling alley," she said while glancing up at him shyly. "Gotcha," he said while making his way towards the bowling alley. As they made their way to their destination there was silence, their eyes roaming around every once in a while.
Both of them craving the other would break the silence. "Yo I got a question," Fez started. Lexi turned to him smiling. "I might have an answer." "Is Maddy mad at me for, you know, what happened during the New Year's party?"
He wanted to know if he could cause trouble between them. "No she isn't, she would have told Nate's parents if she was. Deep down inside she knows he is a terrible person." He nodded, relieved. "I have a question of my own," she said waiting for his response.
He nodded as a sign to let her know she could continue. "Why did you do that to Nate?" "Not my place to say, but you can ask Jewels or Rue." She looked at him confused but nodded. "She said she's in the alley," Lexi told him as they pulled into the parking space.
He made his way into the alley behind the bowling alley. Maddy noticed the car and ran in. "I don't want to talk about it here," she warned. The two teens in the front nodded. "And Fezco don't you dare utter what happened today," she threatened.
"Come on now, why would I do that?" He made his way out of the alley and into the parking lot. "What we doin'? Where we goin'?" Lexi and Maddy looked at each other.
"We can go to my house, Cassie will be there too. It's 7423 Belle Villa Ct." Fez nodded, knowing the town like the back of his hand was very helpful. There was no sound, only the sound of the wind blowing into the car. "Yo, y'all want music," he tried to ease the mood.
Maddy laughed, "did you really ask that?" "My bad," he shrugged lifting his hands up. He chuckled lightly as did Lexi. "So are you going to play music?" Fez turned to look at her, shocked.
"Hey you offered it?" "Thought you were too sad," he teased. Lexi was getting ready to scold him when she was interrupted. "For music? Never," Maddy joined the teasing.
Her tears were now dry and she had a serious expression on her face. She was now thinking clearly, why would she cry in front of him? He grabbed the aux cord, "hook it up." She grabbed the cord connection it to her phone, "don't mind if I do." 7 rings began to play, Maddy and Lexi looked at each other giggling.
"I love this song! Breakfast at Tiffany's and bottles of bubbles. Girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble." "Lashes and diamonds, ATM machines. Buy myself all of my favorite things," Lexi continued.
Maddy laughed, Lexi would always listen to her favorite songs but she never sang along. She was finally influence Lexi. "Yeah," Fez echoed. At first the girls thought it was nothing until the other set of yeah. "You know this song," the girls questioned with shocked faces.
How did he know this song?! "Know it? Fey keeps blasting that shit," he commented while laughing. Lexi's smile dropped and she tensed up while Maddy looked at Lexi shocked. Who the fuck was Fey?
The song was the only thing from keeping the car ride from being silent. "Are you girls hungry," he commented while passing a restaurant. "No we're good," Lexi answered for the both of them. Fez nodded awkwardly. She shifted her mood again, why?
He continued driving to Lexi's house. Soon enough he was pulling into her neighbor. "Is it going up?" "Yes it's that house up there." He nodded awkwardly as he stopped in front of her house.
Lexi immediately got out of the car with her backpack. Maddy looked at her weirdly but followed. "Thanks for the ride." "No problem, text me if y'all need anythin'." He watched them walked into the house before leaving.
