Fez had texted Lexi he was about to reach her house. She had told her friends he was there to have time to get everything. She looked down at her outfit trying to figure out if it was ok. It was a black, red, and white checkered dress with a black cropped cardigan over and black flats. She decided it was appropriate before moving on.

She rushed to pack her things so she could spend the night over at Theo's with Maddy.  She was lucky it was a Friday so she didn't have to wake up early the next day. She looked down at his sweatshirt, she missed it smelling like him. His perfume with a hint of weed, and sometimes wood or like forest. She normally hated the smell of weed but she didn't mind it on him.

She made sure to keep his sweatshirt on the very top. In case he asked for it right away. She walked down the stairs to see her mother watching tv while sipping wine. Her mother noticed her instantly. This was something she predicted would happen.

"What time is it?" "10:40." "Where are you going at this time?" Lexi stopped at the end of the stairs. "Come here," her mother ushered.

"Maddy needs me, she came to pick me up." "I thought Maddy was Cassie's best friend." "She's both of our best friends. We have the same friend group." "Right, but she is more close to Cassie."

"Not really," Lexi whispered. "Those girls are practically attached at the hip, why does she want you?" "Ouch, you make it seem like it's something bad." "I didn't mean it in that way and you know it. You have to see it through my perspective."

'But she did mean it like that, she was worried about Cassie. She thought I was stealing Maddy from Cassie,' Lexi thought. "What perspective?" "Did something happen with Cassie?" "Cassie really hasn't been talking to her as much so she decided to call me instead."

"Why haven't they?" "I didn't know. Cassie has been acting weird and you know it." Fez was waiting outside, she needed to hurry. "Ok, tell her to come in then."

Suze knew Lexi wasn't typically the one to lie but it seemed weird to her. "Mom don't be embarrassing, she's embarrassed that she's crying. I'm not even suppose to say anything." Suze's eyes widened as she heard. She had never seen that girl cry so something was wrong.

"She's crying?!" "Yes but she doesn't like people knowing. So please don't ever tell her I told you." "Ok fine but text me as soon as you get to her house." Lexi nodded before going straight to the door.

She walked towards Fez's car in a hurry. She hoped her mom wasn't peeking out the widow like she normally did. Fez noticed her walking to his car and he was amazed. The moonlight made her shine brighter. She slipped into the car smiling at him.

"Lexi Howard," he greeted her with a smile. "I'm sorry I hope you didn't wait for a long time." "No worries, I was just chillin'." "Ok," she said with the biggest smile. "What's got you in such a good mood?"

Without realizing it she responded with, "you." His face started to turn red. She just said he made her so happy. She liked him just as much as he liked her. She realized she said that and started blushing.

"Where are we heading," she asked as he began to drive. "Wherever you want," he smiled at her. "Where do you want to go?" "Anywhere with you would be nice," he flashed her one of his best smiled. She felt her face heat up at the statement.

He waited for her answer while smiling after her blushed face. "Are you hungry?" "You taking me to your favorite place to eat? I feel honored," he teased. She smiled softly at him.

"What's it called?" "Sister's," Lexi replied. "Ight, we are going to Sister's." She would always come to this dinner with her family. She hadn't been there in years because of the good memories she use to have.

She didn't want to go and think about all the bad ones that happened before the good ones. She decided she would get the closure she needed. She felt nervous as they got closer to the diner. This made her rant on more than usual. Fez didn't seem to mind listening.

He loved watching her talk. She saw the blue and purple light of the sign and began freaking out. She snapped out of it at the touch of his hand making her jump in surprise. "Damn sorry Lexi, I didn't mean to scare you," Fez looked upset. "Shit," he murmured to himself.

"It's ok," she assured him. "Nah, my grandma done raised me better. 'Don't be touching without permission' she'd say." "It's totally fine I was just surprised because I wasn't paying attention." "You good Lexi?"

"Yeah, why would you ask?" "I dunno you see tense," he replied. "It's just I haven't been here in a while and it brings back memories, good and bad." "Ight let's make good ass memories," he said as he got out the car. She watched as he walked to her door opening it up.

"May I," he said in a polite manner. He reached his hand out to help her out the car. She smiled at him as she slightly blushed. He walked her into the dinner. She then realized, she was holding his hand!

Fez dropped Lexi off in front of a fancy house. She said it was the house of the kid Maddy babysat. "I really enjoyed this," he commented. "Yes we should definitely do this again," she smiled at him. He smiled at her, his eyes trailing off to her lips.

He wanted to kiss her but didn't know if it was too soon. Meanwhile she was thinking the same thing. "I should probably-," she trailed off hoping he would do what she was too scared to do. He's eyes showed disappointment. "Yeah," he trailed off.

She saw the house lights were on. She had made Maddy stay up. She felt guilty settle in. She opened the door of the car to step out. She took a deep breath before moving up the pavement.
