"Ow, that's rude." "Sorry babe but it's true." "What is? How am I being dumb?" "I agree with Maddy."
"Not you too," Lexi whined. "It's like you have never talked to guys our age." "Because I haven't," Lexi hissed. "Ok calm down Mae Mae." "So what am I missing?"
"It's obvious that he's not dating that Faye girl." "Yeah, why are you coming up with this conclusion?" "He said yeah," she said in frustration. "Yeah but he said no right after." "Why does that matter?"
"Yeah no is hood for no, no yeah is yes. He said no, he is not dating her." "Boys are so confusing." "He is a green light you can hit on him." "But he told Ash to take care of her."
"Wait why take care of her?" "Cal came into the store and we thought he was going to pull out a gun." "What?!" "Well now we know where Nate gets all his craziness." "I doubt he wanted anyone getting hurt so don't look so much into it."
"Why is she staying with him, then?" "Maybe she's hiding?" "Ok, maybe he isn't dating her and she's staying at his house is totally platonic." The girls smiled, "ok text him." "Wait, no, I can't."
"Why not," Maddy groaned. This girl need to get her shit together and hit on him. He had no way of contacting her so she need to make the move. "What if he doesn't like me." Kat and Maddy started laughing.
"You did not just say that." "Ok don't be mean," she said as she tried to shrink into her covers. "Im not sure, what if he's just being nice. I don't want to make myself look like a fool." "Trust me he likes you."
"Yeah, have you seen how he looks at you." "The world disappears when you are around it." "He turns shades of pinks and reds." The sound of footsteps were heard. "I think we should save this conversation for later," Lexi said.
The door opened and Cassie walked in. "Hey Mads, Lexi." "Where have you been Cas?" "I was just out clearing my mind." "Well we should go to sleep because we have class tomorrow."
"You are sleeping here?" "Do you not want me to be here?" Cassie began to panic, "no- no I didn't mean it that way. I mean it's the first day of class. You always dress extra nice and you would have to wake up early to go to your house to change."
"You do have a point. Can your mom take me home?" "I'll drive you," Lexi said while walking her down the stairs. "Mom I'm taking Maddy home," Lexi announced. "Ok," her mother scream back.
On their way to Maddy's house they talked some more. "Don't tell my sister about any of this." "What? Why not?" "I have a feeling that she wouldn't approve of it."
"Ok well I'll see you tomorrow. Are you riding your bicycle or are you taking the car?" "Mom is probably going to leave me the car, you need a ride?" "No I wanted to know if you needed one. Don't text him till tomorrow."
"Ok, I won't do anything without your approval mom." "That's mommy for you," Maddy jokingly winked at her while getting off the car. "I got to babysit after school so maybe during lunch?" "As long as we don't let Cassie know or suspect." Maddy nodded before going in her house.

It was 4 in the morning and Lexi woke up after having a heated dream involving a certain ginger. She looked at her phone debating if to texting him or waiting till lunch. Suddenly an alarm sent her on alert. She saw her sister getting out of bed. "Why are you awake at 4 AM?"
Instead of answering she hit her sister with the same question. "Why are you awake at 4 AM?" "I woke up but was going back to sleep." "Ok," Cassie said before moving to the bathroom. Cassie decided to wake up at 4 AM to get ready for school?
There's something seriously wrong with her, was Lexi's suspicions true? Was she going behind her best friends back to be with an asshole like Nate? 'I'm too sleepy for this,' she thought before letting sleep consume her.

As soon as she goes parked, Cassie got off the car and rushed off. She sighed before walking across the parking spot. She noticed Fez dropping Rue off, "Yo don't do anythin' stupid." Rue dismissed him with her hand, "yeah whatever man." "I'm being fuckin' seri-," he stopped mid sentence.
His eyes lit up as he saw the brown eyed beauty that recently flood his mind. "Hey Lexi," he smiled at her. She waved awkwardly at him. "Lexi can you please tell fez to get off my back." "Why are you mad?"
Rue was glad Lexi was looking directly at him. She was able to signal to him that she didn't know and rue didn't want her to know. "I- She's on about how she's going to ditch during lunch because Faye is going to be alone while I'm out." "Oh, right. I forgot about Faye."
He noticed the hint of disappointment in her voice. "Yeah, hope she don't have to hide no moe. Ashtray is getting tired of her being 'round but what can I do. Can't have her in the streets and shit." "She doesn't go to school?"
"Yeah, but she's having to stay low and shit." "Oh, I can get her homework for her," she suggested. "Nah I doubt she cares. But you're welcome to come when you want," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck. There was a silence as the 5 minute bell rang.
"Shit I'm sorry, didn't mean to sound weird. I got to go see y'all later," he said as he drove off. Rue wrapped her arm around her friend. "He's totally into you," she laughed. That made her snap out of her trance. "We have to get to class," she said as she rushed her friend to their first period.
