Kristen POV:

Everyone settled at the table shortly after, filling in the spaces around the table. April and Deon got a separate, smaller table, although they both found themselves back over here. Deon sat in Kiana's lap, while April found herself in the middle of Sierra and I, positioned on the edge of both of our laps.

She took Sierra's hand and started playing with the rings on her fingers, and asking about each one. After a while she completely shifted to Sierra's lap, with her head laid on Sierra's chest.

I took in the sweet sight, only to later be interrupted by the sound of knocking on a plate.

"As the oldest, I think it's fit for me to start off the family dinner by saying.....we don't deserve, the wonderful woman we've been blessed with for, a grandmother, mother, and great-grandmother" Shane started off. "She is the foundation and heart of this family, even to those who don't deserve it."

All serving a questioning eye, as he took his seat, everyone shared disturbed glances across the table.

"What?" he questioned, noticing the current commotion.

"What do you mean by, 'those who don't deserve it'?" Sky asked, his eyes watching Shane sharply.

"Sky, you know what I mean" he chuckled, shrugging his shoulders a bit.

"No. I don't."

"God, come on! You're telling me that everyone at this table, has the right to be here? Even those who left this family" his eyes averted to Sierra.

Sierra however, was focused on feeding April, her eyes holding pain. I reached over, and grabbed her hand. Giving it a soft squeeze, she looked up at me and served a weak smile, before resting her head on April's.

"April, Deon can you two go upstairs for a moment?" she requested of the two.

Both looking very confused, they obliged and ran took their tiny little limbs up the stairs.

"Don't pull this bullshit with me Shane" she sneered, her eyes looking at him menacingly.

"Face it Sierra, you don't fit in here. You never did, and never will. Because you're not a part of this family. You stopped being a part of this family, the day you boarded that plane without looking back"

"You think I wanted to leave?" she yelled this time. "I only left, because I wasn't given a choice. I wanted so badly to stay. If grandma didn't come for me, I would've. And why are you only feeding me this crap? Not once, have you said a word to Sarai. Not fucking once, so why is it, you see the need to be all over me?"

"Sarai didn't leave us" he simply stated.

"You're not making sense!" she took to her feet, shaking the table a bit.

"Yes, I am. You. Left. Us."

"Would you two stop?" Sade interjected, rubbing her temples.

"No, why doesn't the faggot carry on? Tell us how she belongs here and why she's justified in bringing her fuck toy with her."

"What? Who are you talking about?" she asked, her chest flaring with anger.

"Sierra-" I attempted to calm her.

"No, who the fuck is he talking about?" she snapped, her hands formed into fists.

"All of a sudden you're clueless? Look, it's sitting right there" he pointed towards me.

And with that, she lost it.

She ran to the other side of the table, and pulled him by his collar. She pinned him against the wall, his feet no longer in contact with the floor. Everyone flooded to the area, trying to pull the two apart.

I sat frozen, taking in the sight before me. My girlfriend, my lover, my other half, the woman I loved, atop her elder brother, in a fit of rage and anger, in defence of my name.

The sound of a faint crack, brought me to my senses. Taking to action, I pardoned myself, as everyone else seemingly cleared a way from me. Going to her side, I rest my hand on her bicep. She froze immediately, her chest pumping with rage.

Running my hand up to her fists, I pry my fingers between hers, as my other hand, went up to her hair.

"Let him go" I said softly.

She loosened her grip on him, allowing him to stand on his own. She stood still for a second, before fleeing the scene and bolting up the stairs.

Following after her, I trail onto her into the room, where she collapses into a ball on the floor.

Running to be there, I pulled her into my arms, holding her close and secure.

"I'm sorry" she mumbled into my shirt, now soaked with her tears. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Today just keeps going wrong, I'm sorry"

"Shh shh, it's okay" I comforted her, stroking her hair. "It's okay baby."

I held her head close to my chest, her hands clutching at the bottom of my shirt. Her tears went even more rancid, as the sound of her sniffles filled the air.

I rocked her from side to side until I noticed that the room became silent. Looking down at her face, I realized that she'd fallen asleep from the crying.

I slowly lifted her off of me, and moved her over to the bed. I laid her down, and threw the blanket over her. I climbed in next to her, and rested her head on my chest.

That's how we fell asleep.
