Kristen POV:
I rushed through the hospital doors, heading straight at the front desk.
"Clara, hi, I'm here to see Sierra Hamilton" I stuttered out, trying to catch my breath.
"How are you relate-"
"I'm her girlfriend" I cut her off, feeling the rush of my blood, as I started to settle.
"She's on the 4th floor, room 497" she told me, giving me a go ahead signal.
Moving back to my pace, I scurry over to the elevator doors and get in anxiously, immediately pushing my number in, not caring who had to go next.
The moment the doors opened, I ran through and began my search for the right room. It didn't take me much time, as my name was called out through the hallways.
"Momma is Sierra gonna be okay?" April asked, the second I got to her side.
Looking to Lea, she gave a somewhat apologetic look, and shrugged.
"I don't know how, but she figured it out" Lea mumbled, rubbing her temples.
Taking her in my arms, I lay her head on my shoulder and look at the door of Sierra's room.
"I don't know princess.....I don't know" I whispered, rubbing the back of her head and trying to stop myself from breaking down.
A few moments later, a pair of familiar faces, turned the corner and came running.
"Where is she?" Sade exclaimed, trying to catch her breath.
"We haven't been allowed to see her" I muttered, feeling like my insides were churning.
Here I was, sat in a hospital, hoping the woman of my dreams would be the same strong, badass, I fell in love with, and pull through. And after I'd been horrible to her, just because I was letting my own fears and insecurities get in the way of something great.
Someone that made me happy, and made my daughter happy.
Soon, I felt a tiny hand on my cheek, wiping it.
"Don't cry momma" April said, perking herself up to face me. "Sierra's gonna be okay"
She rose to her knees in my lap, and put her arms around my neck. Then she pulled back, and wiped whatever more tears had fallen.
Chuckling at her attempt to cheer me up, I gave her a tight squeeze, before she went back to her previous position.

Almost an eternity later, a doctor emerged from her room, and called upon her next of kin. Feeling a bit out of place, I just sat back and hung my head low. Surely enough Sierra had told Sade about what was going on between us, and I obviously didn't deserve the right to be first to see her.
"Kristen??" was what I heard, bringing me to my senses.
It was Sade, offering a hand, to lead me into the room by her side. Taking it unknowingly, I gave a half asleep April over to Lea, and went in with her.
As the door opened, tears immediately ran to my eyes, at the sight of my lover in such a state. She was covered in bandages, and her once soft and freckled face, was now covered in cuts and bruises. Her hand was all bandaged up, and her head was covered in one as well.
"She has some good damage done. Her right hand has a mild fracture to her wrist, with a broken finger, while her left shoulder was dislocated, 2 fractured ribs and her ankle was slightly twisted" the doctor from before came in, abruptly the wallowing silence I put myself in.
"The main damage however," he sighed, bringing up a brain scan on the monitor. "Is to her brain. She hit her head badly, and if she wakes up within the next 24 hours, we run the risk of her losing her life. Hopefully, the medically induced coma, will keep her under and allow the brain to mildly heal."
At the mention of losing her, a small sob threatens to fall, as I attempt to hold my composure. My eyes fall upon Sade, who avoids looking at Sierra on the whole. Taking our silence as a note to leave, the doctor slowly backs out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Letting out a shaky, exasperated sigh, I pull a chair, and sit right at her bedside. Cautiously, I put my hand up to hers, and interlock our fingers.
"You don't blame me?" I ask, my voice raised, just above a whisper.
"For what?" Safe responded, shuffling from one for to another.
"This is my fault" I mumbled, feeling more tears rise to my eyes. "If I'd have just talked to her about my problems, she wouldn't have been distracted, and-"
"And we wouldn't be here" Sade finished for me.
Letting my tears fall, as if they hadn't done that already, I tighten my grip on my girl, just a little.
"Seems like a valid option. For you to blame yourself for something none of us, could've seen coming" I looked up at her with emotional eyes.
"Everyone looks for someone to blame in these situations, so why not you?" she continued, making me close my eyes shut.
"But there's one thing that I do know" she added, moving to this side of the room. "Is that, my sister would do anything, for the likes of you. Which means you're worthwhile. So, don't allow yourself to be eaten up about this, because what you did was human. It was a human reaction, and it happens to the best of us."
I watched as she looked at me with gentle eyes, before pulling me into a hug.
I hugged her back tightly as we sobbed together.
