Kristen POV:
When I got to Lea's house, she was practically hiding in the kitchen, stuffing her face with Chinese food.
"Lea..." I groaned at the sight in front of me.
"What?" she mumbled, with noodles falling from her lips.
Laughing at my dear best friend, I place my purse on a barstool, and go to her side, cleaning the mess she made on the counter.
Throwing away the napkin, I move to the fridge, taking out a bottle of water.
"Someone's in a good mood" she pointed out, folding her arms defensively.
"Well, I'm young and in love Miss Edwards, what's there to be upset about?" I said with a wide smile, sitting opposite her.
"That's about to get a whole lot better" she mumbled, so softly, I could barely make out what she said.
Before I could question it, April walked in, stuffed zebra in hand, rubbing her eyes.
"Momma?" she asked, likely now processing my presence, as she was probably still half asleep.
"Hi honey" I bent down and kissed her tired little head, as I took her in my arms.
"We should head home, huh?" I ask her, smoothing out her hair.
"Or you could stay just a little longer" Lea bargained, a pleading look on her face. "Pretty please?"
"Pretty pretty please, Momma?" April pleaded as well, forcing me to give in.
"Fine, 10 minutes."
~
10 minutes turned into 15, 15 into 25, 25 into 45. 45 minutes, and we just left.
Lea seemed a bit anxious for a bit of the time, but calmed down a little while before we left.
The whole car ride home, April kept going on about how wrong Sierra was for saying Nicole was the best character on Gumball, and I couldn't help but laugh.
The two are so engrossed in it that, I wouldn't dare burst her little bubble and tell her Sierra was right.
As we pulled into the driveway, a strange car, which is what I assumed was what Sierra drove home, parked outside the gate, ensuring to leave my spot empty.
When we got out, I noticed that the lights were all off in the living room, nothing but a small glimmer of light came from inside.
Strange....
Unlocking the door, April ran over to the TV stand and pulled out a box. She took out a piece of folded paper, and handed it to me, before running up to her room.
Slowly unfolding it, an envelope fell out, a red seal on it, along with a letter opener.
Opening it and taking the letter inside, I unfolded it, as it read-
Kristen, my love, my home, I take it upon me now to show you how much I love you, how much you and April, mean to me. Read what the paper you took this envelope out of says, and come find me baby.
- Sierra
Doing as it says with a wide smile on my face, I read the paper April handed me.
In the place we make memories at the break of blue,
you'll find the clue,
attached to a treat,
just for you.
