Sierra POV:

Today was an anxious day for all of us.

Isabelle was getting the results from her final PET scan today, to tell us whether or not her chemo therapy worked. If her cancer was gone, or not.

She'd been discharged and living with us, since about 2 weeks after our engagement. Which means she moved in a total of 4 weeks ago.

In the time, I can honestly say, that I'm inheriting a gem of a mother in law.

She's a quiet person. Humble, and doesn't talk much. Yet, she's outgoing and independent. You can't push her around, nor take advantage of her, she will beat you. Everyday I thank her for raising my girls in the way she did, because in so many ways, they're so similar.

The ride to the hospital was fairly silent. Everyone held their own anxiety, except for Isabelle, who seemed to be the calmest person in the car.

We parked outside the hospital, Kristen and Isabelle going inside, while April and I sat in the car.

We sat in a bit of silence, April looking out the window, at the entrance of the hospital.

"Mom, is grandma gonna be okay" she mumbled, her voice cracking just a little bit.

"I don't know honey....we don't know for sure, but we need to have hope" I told her, reaching for her from the front seat.

Her hand sat in mine, her small fingers trying to hold onto mine perfectly.

We stayed that way until we saw the two women walking back out of the hospital, hopeful looks on both their faces.

They joined us in the car, Isabelle holding a letter sized brown envelope in her hand.

We all turned to watch her, as she slowly opened the seal.

She took out various sheets of paper stapled together, and began to anxiously flip through them, reading what they said.

Then her hand came to hold her mouth, as tears filled her eyes.

She let out an exasperated sigh, and looked at Kristen. A soft smile gradually made its way to her lips, as a single tear rolled down her cheek.

"It's over" she mumbled.

An elated sob escaped Kris' lips, as she reached over into the backseat and hugged her mother.

She sobbed into her shoulder a bit, as Isabelle looked at me over her shoulder, and took my hand in hers.

I smiled and a shed a few tears of my own, as Kris pulled back and wiped hers.

"Since I can eat it now, can we get McDonald's?" Isabelle said, making everyone else laugh, as her voice still wavered.
