LOVE DOES NOT CONQUER ALL

Clint was only making her wrists worse, dragging her out of the Great Hall by her arm. Her continuous 'ows' were ignored. He wanted to know why she was covered head-to-toe in hickies, smiling about it, and where she was last night anyway. Because at that point, he'd been looking for her, Zeph had been looking for her, and Kiara had been looking for her. The fact that they weren't aware of her whereabouts for this long was pissing him off to an entirely new level. She was an adult and didn't feel the need to tell him or anyone else when she was having sex.
Even though Clint wasn't scary, something about angry Clint had always made Alice nervous. She was more annoyed than nervous, but Clint could have a mean streak.
Lately, he'd been more frustrated than usual. Probably because Alice wouldn't shut up about Remus. When she wasn't with Remus, she was constantly talking about him. And as someone who was in love with her, Clint didn't want to hear it.
In fact, he never wanted to hear it. He didn't want to hear it the first time when she told him that she and Remus had kissed. He didn't want to hear it when Remus asked her to be his girlfriend. He didn't even want to hear it when it used to be about Fred when they were dating. Because none of it regarded him.
"Where the fuck were you?" Clint ripped her toward a dark hallway.
Alice leaned against the wall and sighed. "I had sex with my boyfriend. Is it that big of a deal?"
"Did he try to eat you or something!?" He referred to the hickies.
"No! He didn't do anything that I didn't want him to do! I'm fine, Clint. He was perfect, he is perfect," Alice said, beginning to drift into a daydreaming session.
Clint rolled his eyes and groaned a second after. "Nobody is perfect."
"Why are you being like this? Did I do something?" As this year progressed, it was just full of Clint's constant anger outbursts. And every time... it felt like Alice's fault. He took it out on her, and that left her overthinking.
"No- it's... it's just personal," he mumbled.
"Clint, you know you can talk to me. You're my best friend and I love you. It's what I'm here for."
He almost rolled his eyes again. But this wasn't fair to her. Sometimes it didn't feel like it was fair to him either. "Please don't... don't say that to me."
"You've been acting so off lately, please tell me what's wrong. Ever since the beginning of the school year, it's like... it's like..." she breathed out. How could she put it?
"Like... like I'm jealous?"
"I mean... yeah. A bit. Is it because I'm not spending time with you? I'm sorry! I just... I fell in love."
Clint gulped. "So did I."
"With who? You never told me." Yes, Alice was happy that Clint fell in love. But she wouldn't be so happy if she found out who he fell in love with.
"Not important." Clint shook his head. And also not appropriate. She was in a relationship and he had no right to take that away from her. "But seriously... you were there all night? I just don't understand fully..."
