QUIDDITCH QUANDARY

⭒☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆⭒

Alice was covering her ears with her eyes closed as she sat at breakfast. Her hands pressed harshly against her ears. She couldn't hear herself think. Being a half-blood Slytherin was no cakewalk. Especially when she heard about it constantly from those who were not as considerate as Zephyr. Luckily, her quidditch team adored and respected her. Except for one of their precious chasers, who Alice would've kicked off the team if it weren't for Snape's unnecessary input on the matter. Instead, she got him switched from seeker to chaser since he was horrible at his role.

It was a miracle that both Alice and Aria managed to be half-bloods. That meant her mother managed to sleep with two different wizards while being a muggle. She came into contact with them thanks to her stepfather being a wizard. Was it really a thanks? It's not as though either Alice or Aria's father stayed.

But currently, that's not what Alice was thinking about. Remus had reminded her in an important conversation that her team's first quidditch game of the season would be held tomorrow. And at the time, tomorrow was today. They'd had plenty of practices over the last few weeks, and Alice was confident that they'd do well. Nerves rarely got the best of her.

When Remus said he wanted to talk about something important, quidditch was not what she had in mind. Though she wasn't even thinking rationally. It was hard to think rationally when you were around someone who made your head spin. Again, she was getting off track. Quidditch had to be the only thing on her mind.

"Oi, captain. What's the game plan today?" Adrian Pucey abruptly sat down next to her.

"I'm working on it. We have plenty of strategies and plays, but we're playing Hufflepuff. We have to be best equipped to deflect their own strategies."

Adrian bounced his eyebrows and cut his eggs. "Sorry, I stopped listening as soon as you talked like a smart person."

Alice put her chin down on the table. Typical. "Yeah..."

"You should eat something, you know. Gotta be strong and energized to swat away those shots, Ali," Adrian placed a kiss on her cheek to distract her as he snuck half a sausage into her mouth. "Ta-da!"

She let it slide considering it tasted good. "Okay, give me that." She dragged his plate across the table and stole his fork from him.

"Just remember that your favorite seeker gave you that breakfast."

"I'm not setting you up with Angelina, Adrian."

"I know." He sighed.

Adrian had been after Angelina's heart since 3rd year. But she'd been with Clint a long time. Which proved to be a waste of her time in the end. Adrian wasn't exactly her type. He was sweet, athletic, but moved too fast for her. Clint was almost the opposite. He wasn't usually sweet. He liked to tease instead. Although he played on the Hufflepuff team, his job as keeper was easy. Not to mention, he never moved too fast. Clint took relationships slowly. He didn't even physically move fast.

Zephyr strangled Alice from behind. "Gameday, Ali! We are winning this, I can feel it in my ligaments and tendons!"

"Yeah, I can feel it in my esophagus and reproductive system." Alice rolled her eyes.

Zephyr lowered his lips to her ear level and sat down. "No, that's just Professor Lupin's cock," he whispered.

Alice flinched. "Don't talk about it!"

"Talk about what?" Adrian asked with a mouthful.

"Nothing!" Zeph and Alice shouted simultaneously. Everyone at the Slytherin table quieted down.
