Marlo:

I'm focusing too much on trying to walk in a straight line before I realise that I don't even know where I'm going.

I call Faye again, and she picks up almost instantly.

"Would you be so kind as to tell me what number your flat is?"

I can hear the smile in her voice as she replies. "It's 334."

"Okay." I repeat it in my head as I enter the doors to the accommodation, heading over to the lift.

"That's the third floor, Marlo."

"Yeah, yeah I know."

She laughs. "Just making sure you being drunk hasn't made you stupid."

I smirk, then realise she can't see my face. "Shush."

I arrive at her's in what I want to say was a quick and smooth journey, although I did forget where I was going a couple of times and kept having to stop.

She doesn't need to know that, though.

I text her a "I'm here", my fingers fumbling over the key-pad as I wait by the main door, rereading the number on it just to make sure I got the right one.

It swings open not a moment later, and I'm greeted with a smiling Faye.

Faye.

She's wearing an oversized sweater and white pyjama pants, and her face is bare. This is the first time I've seen her without makeup. This is also the first time I can see the usually-hidden freckles sprinkled across her nose and cheeks.

"Wow." I don't realise that I've said it out loud until she laughs.

"Wow?" She asks, frowning.

I feel my face form into an idiot grin. "You're so beautiful."

She shakes her head, smiling, as she turns and walks back into the flat.

It takes me a second to realise she wants me to follow her, and I do, watching her open the door to her room and holding it out for me.

I'm so focused on Faye that I don't take in the room at first, until she turns and gestures to it. "Well... This is it."

That's when I do look round, quickly, before my eyes settle back on her. I don't take in everything, just the main things like the vines and fairy lights, and the photos and posters on the walls.

"Not as cool as mine, though."

She rolls her eyes, taking a seat on her bed. "What did you want to see me about?"

"See you about?" I reply.

"Isn't... That the whole reason you called?"

I stare at her, feeling suddenly awkward that I'm the only one standing, so I join her on her bed. I've sat too close to her by accident though, and her eyes flick down to our legs touching.

I move mine away. "Sorry."

"It's okay," She meets my eyes again. "So..?"

I rub the back of my neck. "Um... Is there meant to be a reason that I wanted to see you?"

"What, so you're telling me you just missed me?" She smirks like I smirk.

I fight the urge to tell her to shut up. "Maybe."

Faye's eyes widen slightly at my response, and I can tell that wasn't what she expected. "Really?"

I shrug, looking at her.
