Faye:
It doesn't take long at all for me to feel dizzy. I don't remember ever feeling drunk or even tipsy this quickly before, and all I can hear is Gia's voice telling me to remember to take it slow.
Where is Gia, anyway?
I scan the crowd again for a glimpse of her, but it's like she's completely disappeared.
I'm starting to feel sick.
I lean my back against the wall I'm in front of in an attempt for more support. It's cool against the palms of my hands.
"Faye? You okay?"
Marlo. He's looking at me with such concern right now that it makes me panic.
Oh fuck, can everyone else see how not-alright I look right now?
"I just feel a bit dizzy." I tell him.
"Did you want to sit down?"
I nod as an answer, and he looks around the room quickly.
"Come with me, I found somewhere."
I try not to bump into people as we walk, but it's like his height parts the way for us, because people just move aside without him having to tell them to.
I'm a bit envious, actually.
I take a seat on one of the chairs near the doors that he points to, and grab his arm.
He startles slightly at the sudden contact. "Faye?"
"Can you see Gia?" I ask. "I can't find her. She's wearing white and she'll probably be with Mikel."
Marlo nods, looking around the room once again. He leans down to my height and I ignore the turn I get in my stomach at the smell of his cologne.
It's probably just the same sick feeling I'm getting because of the vodka.
"I think I see her." He points at my eye-level so I can see where he means.
Relief floods into me.
"Is it okay if you go and get her?" I look up at him.
Why does he look so good from every angle?
He smiles. "Yeah, Faye, of course. Give me a sec."
Marlo:
My eyes are fixed onto Georgina so I don't lose her, because I want to bring her back to Faye as fast as possible.
I don't exactly understand how anyone would get drunk that quickly - it was only a few minutes after she'd drank the vodka shots Becca had bought her. Maybe she's just really light-weight because she doesn't drink?
I wonder if this is the first time she's drank properly. Although, it didn't completely seem like it when she took the shots. She didn't make a disgusted face that people usually do when tasting alcohol for the first time. I know she'd said she had one shot previously, but no-one would be able to get used to it that quickly.
Maybe she just hasn't drank in a while.
Mikel notices me walking over before Georgina does, and nods at me. This makes Georgina turn, and I smile at them.
"Hi, guys. Sorry, Faye asked me to come and get you Georgina. She's over there." I look back in the direction that Faye's in, then turn back to them.
This makes them both frown. "Is she okay?" Mikel asks.
