Marlo:
I don't know what time I fell asleep because I kept fighting it, thinking what if she chokes on her vomit while I'm unconscious.
It's 9.47 right now, and Faye is still sleeping. I let her, though. She needs it.
I fill a glass of water and place it on her beside table in case she wakes up before I come back, and then head to my room to shower quickly and change into fresh clothes. Georgina is in the kitchen when I return to Faye's flat.
"Oh, hi Marlo." She says from her place next to one of the counters.
I give her a quick smile. "Hey. I think Faye's still sleeping but I wanted to make her breakfast or something so she can have it when she wakes up. Do you know what she likes?"
Georgina smiles. "There's bagels in the cupboard here. Green tea as well. She has it with two spoons of honey."
I nod and head over to the cupboard she's pointed to.
"Is she okay, by the way? Faye." Georgina asks this as soon as the bagel is in the toaster.
I step back a little to turn to her. "She threw up a lot last night but I think she's alright."
Georgina nods slowly, a frown on her face. "Hmm. I'll check in on her later, if that's okay. I'm in the room to her left, so knock on my door if she needs anything."
"Yeah, of course."
I hear the sound of water running from Faye's bathroom by the time I go back to her room, and I knock on the door twice once I set the plated bagel and cup of green tea down on her desk.
"It's Marlo, Faye. Just letting you know I've brought you breakfast."
The water shuts off. "Oh, I thought you left. Give me a minute, I'll be out soon."
"Alright."
She looks tired once she opens the door, but smiles at me nonetheless, smiling more when she sees what I've brought her.
"If you don't want them I'll have it, but you should eat something." I advise as she walks over.
Despite her clearly just having woke up and being obviously hungover, she is still far more beautiful than anyone I've ever seen.
She hugs me lazily before sitting down on the chair at her desk. "Thank you for this. And thank you for looking after me."
I smile at her. "No problem."
She takes a sip of the tea and then turns back to me. "I thought you left. When I woke up, I mean, and you weren't here."
"Just went back to shower and change. I can stay with you for a bit. Unless I'm annoying you, of course. Promise I won't be offended if I am annoying you, you can say."
She smiles at me. "You could never annoy me, Marlo. I want you to stay."
"Okay." I say.
I stay.
