Chapter One: A Summer of Fun

No one's POV

Mercedes Jones felt so insecure in the past years over her weight, that guys didn't want her for her size and her being in glee club didn't help, she vowed that in the summer after a year left in Rachel's shadow that she'd be happy and find someone

And she did

While at church one day she saw a new family walk in and when's she saw a girl in the middle of a man and older women as well as a older boy, she was in awe

The girl was tall, brown skin that glowed in the light, athletic build, thick curly and coily hair that was in a ponytail showing her fresh haircut and dressed in a nice dress shirt and dress pants

Mercedes almost fell off the stage as she stared at the girl as her family and her sat down, she had never found a girl this interesting and never thought she'd be this entranced this quickly I mean she hadn't even got the girls name but she was determined to after the service

But little did Mercedes know that the new girl was looking at her as well and she was looking just as hard, she couldn't take her eyes off the stunning, glowing girl in front of her and the voice made her feel even more entranced, she couldn't wait until the service ended so she could talk to her

After Church is over

Mercedes was talking to her choir director she felt a tap on her shoulder, she excused herself and turned around to see the girl she became instantly infatuated with standing there in all her tall glory

"Hey....what's your name" She says with a charming smile

"I-I'm Mercedes Jones, what's your name" Mercedes says nervously as she puts her hand out

"I'm Kai Overstreet...Nice to meet you Ms.Jones" Kai says as she shakes Mercedes hand and soon raises it up and kisses the back of her hand causing both to blush

And after that it was on, they hung out for two weeks straight and got to know each other ........and after one night where they were in Mercedes' room.......

"I can't believe that you jumped off the roof and swan dived into the pool" Mercedes says as she laughs and eats popcorn, Kai laughs with her as they sit next to each other watching That 70's Show

"I did and my parents screamed so loud, my brother just laughed and did it with me" Kai says proudly with a slight chuckle

"Your crazy" Mercedes says as she shakes her head and looks at Kai who's looking at her intensely

"I am but you like it " Kai says with a small laugh as she looks from Mercedes eyes to her lips and back

"I definitely do" Mercedes says as she looks from Kai's lips and eyes as well

They stare at each other very intensely as they see who is going to make the first move as they both lean in and soon meet in the middle for a passionate kiss

After that kiss it leads to lots of getting to know each other, and every time they did it....they both fell harder for each other

They remained like this and formed a friends with benefits relationship for the rest of the summer with make outs by the beach, love making in romantic settings with rose petals

Not the typical friends with benefits relationship but these two weren't typical at all

But things changed

"What do you mean your going to Dalton" Mercedes exclaims as she looks at a guilty Kai who is getting up from her bed

"Look my parents found out about all the bullying at McKinley and I begged them but they don't want me to be bullied especially if I'm outed or if I'm in glee" Kai says sadly as she walks over to Mercedes as the shorter girl looks to the floor

"Does this mean....you'll be competing against us" Mercedes says hesitantly, Kai nods and this causes Mercedes to feel defeated, not only did she want to ask Kai out soon but she wanted to show her off...now she can't for multiple reasons

She doesn't even know if Kai feels the same

"Just because I'm going to be your competitor doesn't mean I won't support you fully.....your still the most talented singer I've seen and I will say that no matter what team I'm on, plus you'll have Sam and Kurt to support you" Kai says before kissing Mercedes forehead lifting her chin up and kissing her tenderly

It's the last week of summer and it was a hard one after finding out they won't go to school together for reasons out of their control but they made the week worth their wild before Kai eventually had to go to Dalton for basketball and enrollment and Mercedes returned to McKinley

The two ex lovers missed each other dearly but the wave of events to come were something they weren't prepared for

A/n ok I'm loving this story and I'm definitely writing it off what I've been writing because wow this was a good decision lol btw it's purposely short
