Kai's POV (flashback to the night of Regionals)
"I don't wanna go to Dalton anymore...I wanna transfer to..McKinley" I say as I feel the weight come off my shoulders
"McKinley!" My Dad exclaims loudly but my mom tells him to quiet down since Mercedes is asleep upstairs
"Kai please explain why you want to leave and got to McKinley specifically" My Mom says and I sigh
"The warblers found out about Mercedes and I and it's not good...like they completely switched up on me in a second and they are blaming me for us getting second...and you know basketball has been awful" I explain
"Yes we know basketball has been difficult and trust me the Dean hasn't been helpful but...you can solve things with the warblers easily can't you" My Mom says confused and I shake my head
"I can't..Sebastian set up me being caught with a picture he took of Mercedes after sectionals, when we went out after and he's been on a power trip about being leader because he's mad Blaine gave it to me when he left" I say and my mom sighs as well and rubs her forehead
"So your leaving because of that and basketball...but I can't help but feel this has something to do with Mercedes going there" My dad says skeptically
"No it doesn't...it's a plus that she goes there but it's not with her in mind....my future in both music and basketball are at stake and I haven't decided which but I have the opportunity to do well in both before college...my stats are bad right now and I haven't been showing my potential and I can't have music be messed up too" I say and my dad lets out a breath as he looks away
"You know McKinley has a little bit worse of a program right" My dad says and I nod
" I know but if I can play I won't care...and Carmel is worse now that the glee instructor left" I say and he nods and looks to my mom who looks very worried
"Baby...that school is known for bullying people that are different...are you sure about this move" She asks carefully
"Mom..,you guys taught me that people are gonna say anything for a reaction...I'll be ok and plus...I can fight" I say causing my parents to laugh
"Well that's true....just making sure your prepared for this" My dad says as they both grab my hands
"I'll call McKinley in the morning" My mom says and I smile
"And I'll call the Dean at Dalton...I'll be happy to hear his voice quiver that he's losing you as a student" My Dad says causing me to smile
"Thank you guys...for trusting me on this" I say and they nod and leave over and kiss my head at the same time
We all same Goodnight and I head to my room and cuddle with a still sleeping Mercedes', I kiss her head and close my eyes as I think about Monday being my last day at Dalton
