Mercedes's POV
I smile as I walk into school texting Kai, Kurt and I had a sleepover and I was so happy to finally receive a text from Kai
I was so worried that she didn't like me like i like her but i think she may but it upsets me a little that we can't be in school together
We've been texting and calling none stop since that sleepover and we may meet up after Sectionals which is in two days, I'm hoping that Mr.Shue let's me have a solo in at least one song
I walk into the choir to see the usual chaos, I sit down next to Kurt and avoid eye contact with Sam who is telling the whole school that he and I had a summer fling and that we're dating now
"You still texting your warbler lover" Kurt says quietly causing me to push him lightly as I smile a bit
"Maybe...have you texted yours" I say and Kurt blushes a little and hides his phone
"Maybe" He says causing me to laugh a little and he joins in, we start talking about Sectionals and he's hyping up that I'm going to get a solo since I've been working hard for it and proving myself
Just as I'm about to respond Mr.Shue walks in with a smile on his face as he sets his bag on the Piano
"Alright.....Let's get started" He says and the whole glee club pays attention
"I have decided on who is getting the solo for sectionals this year....it was tough since all of you have worked so hard but I've made the decision that's best for our chances to win over Dalton academy" He continues as he builds suspense
"I've chosen.....Same and Quinn" He says causing my face to fall
"What...I thought you changed your mind on the competition" Tina says angrily
"Yea and not to mention that you always pick everyone else but us" Santana says just as annoyed as she gestures to Kurt, me and about everyone that isn't Rachel, Finn and Quinn
"Guy...guys I've made my decision, they were the best candidates for the leads this year" Mr.Shue says and I just shake my head, I feel Kurt's hand in my shoulder as he tries to comfort me
"Mr.Shue, with all due respect, you should have chosen Mercedes i means shes worked so hard for it" Kurt says coming to my defense, I hear the rest of the glee club agreeing, even Santana agreed
"Well I'm sorry...maybe at Regionals, but Quinn...Sam, you guys are our leads this year" Mr.Shue says and I just shake my head as I text Kai about everything that's happened
The bell rings and I walk out of the choir room first and ignore Mr.Shue trying to get my attention as I walk out
"I can't believe the trouty mouth and pregers got the solo again and you didn't, I mean you worked harder than me" Santana says and she walks out with me and Kurt
