Kai's POV (proofread)
I let out a deep breath as I sit backstage with the rest of the guys, sectionals came faster than I could process and I'm not prepared mentally at all
"It's gonna be ok Kai....look just follow my lead and hey....Mercedes is here....so maybe that will help" Blaine says coming over to me, I look up at him from the floor and to Blaine who's giving me a supportive smile
"Yea I'll try...but I can't make it obvious that her and I know each other..you know that I'll catch some heat for-" I say but stop when Sebastian comes over to us
"You guys ready to crush this" He says but something about his tone is...suspicious to say the least
"Yea...just shaking out some gitters...that's all" I say nervously and Sebastian nods before looking to Blaine and giving him a flirty look that Blaine does not return
"Yea...we're good Sebastian" Blaine says annoyed and Sebastian puts his hands up before walking away
"That guy doesn't like the word no does he" I say with a laughs and Blaine rolls his eyes, suddenly the signal for us to go on stage comes and I am officially shitting myself
"Ok now I'm really freaking out" i say and Blaine sighs before grabbing my arm and dragging me out with the rest of the guys, we make it to the stage and I try to calm my anxiety
"Your gonna be great..plus I'm the one in front...for now" Blaine says with a smirk and I nod
"We got this" He says encouragingly and I smile a bit at him, he goes into his place and I do the same, I'm in the back since I'm taller than some of the guys
The curtain pulls and I see the crowd and something in me shifts and I start to feel the confidence come out more and more, I scan the crowd as the music begins and I spot Mercedes
I smile at her and she spots me too and smiles widely back at me, ok now I'm feeling the confidence, I can do this
I smile and sing with the guys as I watch Blaine proudly before looking to the crowd and seeing Mercedes smiling back at me gleefully and supportively
She blows me a kiss that anyone not looking wouldn't have seen and I smile and catch it before doing the choreography with Blaine as he and I look at each other and smile
We end the song and the crowd cheers causing me to feel the weight being lifted from my shoulders, I look to see my parents cheering wildly and I wave to them
I look to Mercedes and she's doing the same as my parents, I wink at her before the warblers and I get off stage and head to the back, we come to the back cheering as we high five each other
