Chapter Thrity-Four: Mood swings

Kai's POV

I walk out with my teammates as the McKinley side cheers for us, I smile and wave as my eyes find the trophy and the mvp

I walk over  to Isaiah as he stares down at the ground sadly, I put my hand on his shoulder causing him to look at me and I can see the disappointment in his eyes

"I know what you finna say" He says and I nod

"As long as you know but....thanks for defending me...just hate that he got to come back into the game and Isaiah scoffs

"I know....it didn't help so I'm all good" He says and I smile

"Everyone thank you for coming to support our Titans...we made history today and I...could not be more proud of my boys...and girl...I feel the pride in my chest and I see yet again today....the reason I coach...these players played their heart out for you and themselves and each of their teammates and friends....and right now I want all my guys to hold this trophy up..together" Coach Beiste says and I smile and put my hand in the trophy with Coach next to me

"Yeaaaaaaaaaa" My teammates and i all yell as we hold the trophy and the pictures are taken, we settle down and I see the MVP trophy next to it

"Now....I want to honor our MVP...the person who came to us and built us up for the ground up and has earned everything she's accomplished here....the MVP...Kai Overstreet" Coach Beiste says and I smile widely as the crowd cheers

I walk up and hug Coach Beiste before dapping up my teammates and taking the trophy in my hands

"Can I say some things" I ask and Coach Beiste nods before handing me the mic

"Hey y'all.....I just...I can't express my gratitude and my...appreciation for this team...my coach....my friends and family...my teammates who worked just as hard as me....my love goes to you guys too...you all accepted me immediately and not to sound like an NBA  player but....you guys got us here too with your support...thank you" I say to start

"I earned my way here...but so did my guys....I never want to disappoint my guys and I didn't today...and they didn't disappoint me today...thank you" I say as my eyes burn holes into my brother who looks away awkwardly

I hand Coach Beiste the mic as the crowd cheers me on and I walk up to my team who hug me and pat my back causing me to laugh and smile

We all take a picture before heading to the locker room, I shower and get changed before walking out with Isaiah

"Yo...its weird the season is over like...I don't got nothin to do after" I say when suddenly Quinn and Santana come over to us

Santana wraps her arms around me and I see Quinn wraps her arms around Isaiah and cuddle into his chest

I smirk and look to Santana who nods and I smile

"Well I be dammed" I say when suddenly I'm pulled into a tight hug by two people, I look to see my mom and Mercedes

I smile and kiss both their heads as my dad walks over and kisses mine

"We're so proud of you...oh my gosh you did amazing" My mom says as she pulls away and cups my face causing me to me to smile

"I'm so proud of you Kai....the scouts loved you I know it" My dad says and I smile at him before pulling him into a hug, ignoring Emmanuel

"If it isn't the MVP" I hear causing me to look over to see a scout for the Auburn university

"Derrick hey....I hope you enjoyed the game" I say as I hug my surrogate uncle and he chucked before hugging me tightly

"I did and I enjoyed what I saw out there, you have a real talent and gift...oh hey Emmanuel" Derrick says as he daps my father up and hug my mom before turning to my brother who makes no move to greet him

"Hey" Emmanuel says and Derrick just nods before looking back to me

"I'm not here as Uncle Derrick....I'm here as an Auburn scout and frankly......I just can't get your game out of my head Kai...you did amazing out there" He says and I smile

"It means a lot coming from you especially since you got Emmanuel in....I just....I hope this ain't because you know us personally" I say and Derrick waves me off

"Oh nah...this is purely business related and trust me...we'll be in touch" Derrick says and I smile

"That's good to hear" I say, we all talk for a bit before more scouts come up to me and talk to me and my parents, I look around for  Isaiah since he was worried about scouts too

I smile widely as I see him talking to a scout with Quinn next to him still, I feel a hand cup my cheek causing me to look over to Mercedes and smile towards her lovingly

"I'm so proud of you" She whispers out and I peck her lips before turning towards her more and pulling her close

"Thank you....your support of me means more than you know....but I want you to know I'm proud of you too' I say and Mercedes smiles widely

"I know" She says before pulling me into a kiss

"Alright you two....we gotta head home, got a show choir concert to go to tomorrow" My Dad says and I smile as Mercedes blushes slightly

"You guys really don't have to come just for me" Mercedes says and my parents give her a look

"Girl we coming especially since your gonna be amazing and Kai is joining next year" My Mom says before hugging Mercedes' and getting into the car

"I love your parents" She says and I sigh

"I love them too" I say, I give Santana, Quinn and Isaiah a goodbye before going to the car with my parents and we drive home after dropping Mercedes' off

I immediately head to my room as my parents do the same, I put my clothes in my dirty clothes hamper and I turn around to sit on my bed when I see Emmanuel standing at the door

"Hey...I just wanted to say that...you did great out there" He says and I just nod before sitting down on my bed and taking off my slides and socks

"Kai can you at least say thank you or talk to me at all" Emmanuel says as he sucks his teeth but I don't look at him

"What's there to talk about" I say calmly as I lay in my bed and put my phone on the charger, I watch as Emmanuel limps his way into my room and stands next to my bed

"I wanna be good again....we was so close and I know I fucked up but why can't you let it go-

"Let it go....LET IT GO! You were my role model for basketball, my biggest supporter before you got hurt but then you lose some shit and see me rising..... and wanna put me down and make me feel like crap...just for you to give me some sad ass apology and expect me to GET OVER IT!?" I yell at Emmanuel as I get up and in his face

"But I apologized" Emmanuel argues

"And I don't accept it...it's not up to you to make me accept it either" I say and Emmanuel clenched his jaw before walking out of my room and slamming my door on his way out

I shaken my head before laying down and texting my parents telling them things are ok before texting Mercedes Goodnight

I close my phone and sigh as I stare at the ceiling angrily but shut my eyes to try and go to sleep

A/n oof the girls are fighhttitnnnnnggggggg, lmao I fr can't stand Emmanuel rn but hey....Auburn is interested so they may play together for a bit
