Chapter Thirteen: Bad Side of Things

Mercedes' POV (a few days later) (proofread)

I sit in glee rehearsal feeling nervous, I already performed my original song and Mr.Shue seemed to love it with how much he praised it, the Whitney/ Freddie week went great too and it gave me hope that maybe I'll get a solo

"Ok everyone let's see, I've had a really hard time choosing songs because most of them were amazing but I can only chose two and with Reigonals a few weeks away, it's time to memorize your parts so...without further ado" He says and I pray that I'm picked

I've worked so hard and that song took me forever to write, the others were good especially Rachel's but I really want mine to be picked

"Rachel congratulations, your songs were great and you will perform them at Regionals" Mr.Shue says and my shoulders slump as my stomach turns in disappointment

"Mr.Shue are you kidding me, you always chose Rachel" Tina says

"Yea like why can't you branch out for once" Mike says and I just stay silent as I listen to everyone plead their case but Mr.Shue says nothing that helps him

I can't help but feel like it's never gonna be my turn with him, I've worked just as hard as Rachel yet he leaves me in the back, yet if it's called out he never admits it

"Guys...I make the decisions here and Rachel had the best song..end of discussion, I'm sorry Rachel that your fellow club members are being selfish" He says and I roll my eyes at his statement

I look to Rachel who looks very uncomfortable, I feel for her but she will get over this in like two days like always

The bell rings and I immediately beeline out of the choir room in disgust of Mr.Shue, I make my way to my locker as I feel the usual stares from the football team come my way

Sam may have been "punished" but by Mr.Shue but he's not stopping the rumors according to Isaiah nor is he adding to them anymore

"He's got to be joking, we're being selfish when he gives every solo to the most selfish person in the club" Kurt says Sam Blaine tries to comfort him

"This sucks because honestly her song was good but not that good" Blaine says sadly

"Mercedes' your quiet..are you ok" Kurt's asks

"I'm fine...just now realizing that he's never going to change his bias...so I need to branch out" I say as I close my locker and walk away with Blaine and Kurt following and asking what I mean by that
