Chapter 11

The four met each other at the school's garden immediately after Monday morning assembly right before first period, Zuriel got there first unlike other times.

Zuriel discretely brought out her wallet and started counting money, rearranging it in ascending order.

"Zuriel I thought they told you to stop extorting from those Junior girls?" Stephanie asks.

Zuriel claims she's stopped for now at least, that she got all the money she's with from selling sweets.

Zuriel was bummed out that her own friends haven't even patronized her since she started.

"We're your besties... You're supposed to be dashing us" Jason says.

"Yes, that's true!" Timi joins, things between him and Jason are still awkward since they reconciled, it's going to take a while before things get back to normal.

Zuriel reluctantly shares sweets for the three of them. Jason spares her and gives her a hundred and fifty naira, cause he knows how much Zuriel loves her business.

"This money is for the one you bought, Stephanie and Timi you're still owing me" Zuriel implies.

Stephanie and Timi laugh out loud because of how greedy Zuriel is.

Zuriel and Stephanie don't even notice that Jason and Timi are back together, Jason preferred it that way.

Timi starts talking about his older brother being suspended from his university for scaling out and his parents are extremely pissed and transferring all the aggression towards him.

Jason knows Timi's older brother; Wale better than anyone seated there, so he had to talk.

Jason jokingly mocked Timi's brother for going to a private university in the first place, Zuriel and Stephanie laughed about it, Timi joined few seconds later, he didn't seem to pleased about it.

Behind SSS2 block Tope was busy advertising for people to buy sweets from her, she'd sold a substantial amount but not as fast Zuriel would want her to, Zuriel has like this tactic of persuading people into buying her stuff, she's so good at it.

Tope turned quickly as soon as she heard someone calling her name, she was hoping they wanted to buy sweets, it turns out it was Chika, but she was still happy tho, at least someone to share her problems with.

Tope tries to get Chika to sell sweets with her, he declines saying he has a lot on his mind.

Chika was telling the truth, he was extremely bothered by what Lateef said to him the other day and he's been avoiding Malik ever since.

Not long into their walk pass the hallway they started hearing someone whisper, it caught Chika's attention cause it sounded like the person was calling his name.

"Psst" Malik called out to Chika, Chika was nervous, he had nowhere to run to.

Chika wants to go meet him but checks in with Tope first to know if he's allowed to, Tope gives him the go ahead. Before Chika leaves, Tope asks if Malik wants to buy sweets.

"Nah! What of you Chika do you want?" Malik asks Chika.

"I don't have money" Chika fiddles with his empty pocket.

"Collect two from her... I'd pay" Malik said.

Chika started feeling infatuated again which he didn't want to for Malik, but Malik won't stop being so charming to him.

Malik gives Chika a hundred naira while Tope hands him two pin pops, before the two of them leave.

"Why did you even call me?" Chika asked.

"I bought two plates of food and I didn't want the other one to waste so..." Malik said.

"What of Olamide?"

"I don't know where he is"

Chika could sense Malik was lying, he didn't want to confront him about it, after all he's getting free food.

They went to a hidden spot around the corner of their block, a lot of people usually go there to eat alone.

Malik brings out two plates from his bag, one was bigger than the other, he gave Chika the bigger plate, this made Chika even more confused.

Chika had to ask "what about your brother? He said we should stop following each other"

"He's a fool, leave him alone, I'm sorry about what he called you, hope you weren't offended?" Malik asks, Chika shakes his head while opening the plate of Jollof rice, spaghetti and Chicken.

Someone had told Olamide that they saw Malik and Chika talking to each other, Lateef told Olamide to watch his brother for him, so he went looking for them in the first place he could think of.

"What are you two doing? You guys are fagging abi?" Olamide jumps in expecting they'd be doing something else.

"You want?" Chika stretches out his Chicken completely ignoring what Olamide said.

Olamide couldn't stand Chika, he wanted to tell on Malik but he knows he can't bring himself to do it so he lets it go but still warns Chika to stay away from Malik.

"Get out of here please, you're acting stupid... If you like go and tell my brother" Malik said infuriated. "please tell him I'm begging you"

Olamide left disgusted.

Their teacher missed first period, so most of the SSS3 students are roaming around the hallway.

Beamer met Stephanie who was seated on the railings during free period, to ask her about something.

"What did you want to ask me?" Stephanie asked.

"I wanted to ask you out" Beamer said boldly.

Stephanie blushed then said she'd think about it before leaving.

Timi and Moyo are discussing, Moyo stops when she sees her sister; Tope walking around with a bag in her front instead of being in class.

She goes to ask her why she isn't in class.

"I was going to class now" Tope lied.

"What's in the bag?" Moyo asked suspiciously.

"Nothing" Tope drew the bag closer to herself and wanted to walk away.

"Tope come back here what's in that bag? I swear... If you walk away from me"

Timi had to see what's going on that made Moyo so mad.

"What's in the bag Tope?" Timi asked with a deep voice intimidating Tope.

"Sweets" Tope answered.

Moyo became more mad, cause she knew it wasn't her sister that owns it, it belongs to her rival; Zuriel.

Moyo left Tope alone and went looking for Zuriel, Timi tried calming her down.

"Forget about it, it's Zuriel, as long as she didn't force Tope..." Timi says.

"It's because she's your friend that's why you're supporting her... And how do you know she didn't force Tope" Moyo asked.

Timi became short of words.
