Chapter 36

Early Thursday morning, Jason met an old friend in his nearly empty class, it was Malvin; a dark skinned, effeminate boy who is of average height.

Malvin was wearing his usuals, his school uniform with his blaizers, he almost never wears a tie.

Malvin travelled abroad during last summer and since then hadn't resumed school until now.

"I thought you weren't coming back?" Jason asked.

"I wasn't actually... but my parents wanted me to finish secondary school in Nigeria so..." Malvin let Jason figure out the rest.

Malvin arranged some books in his bag while Jason filled him in on what he missed.

"...We've done tests, you should probably go and meet VP acad, so you can take them" Jason suggested.

Malvin didn't seem to worry about it, he never really bothered about school anyways. He just wanted to go back to his normal life, hoping no one would treat him like a new kid.

"I'm going to the garden.... I'd see you later" Jason spun around and left for the garden.

Jason and Timi got to the garden at the same time almost like it was planned. Jason sat on a bench right after Timi sat on it. Before Timi could explain himself about the whole Moyo situation, Jason cut in. "I saw Malvin in class"

"Seriously? Didn't he relocate to UK?" Timi asked.

"That's what I thought... But he came back to finish school here..."

When Jason was done talking, he finally let Timi speak, Timi kept coming up with the same excuse over and over again, Jason was already getting dramatically bored about it, to make things worse, they saw Moyo coming, headed towards them.

"Good morning" Moyo greeted Timi then turned to face Jason "Good morning"

Jason responded awkwardly cause he was surprised she was greeting him willingly, he always thought she deeply hated him.

Moyo wiped the bench clean before she sat down then proceeded to dust her hands after, she sat in between Jason and Timi. Jason gave them space a little before bringing out his phone secretly to text his LGM.

Beamer's phone started beeping as he was approaching the garden with Stephanie and Zuriel. The notifications were texts from Jason to his other number, he quickly put his phone on silent before anyone noticed but it was too late, it already caught Stephanie's attention.

"Who was that?" Stephanie asked.

"My mum, she texted to know If I took my phone to school" Beamer lied without blinking an eye.

Jason moved closer to Timi and Moyo for Stephanie and Beamer to sit, the bench could only take five people so Zuriel had to either stand or sit on another bench. She went with option C, Jason lapping her.

This would be the first time all six of them were together, from afar they looked like three straight couples sitting together but in truth there were actually three couples but Zuriel wasn't in any.

Eyes were on them as usual but they didn't seem to mind, Jason was a bit worried tho, hoping no teacher or worse his parents sees him lapping Zuriel.

Malvin walked up to the six of them to chat, they were all surprised to see him back, Jason explained to the rest of them why Malvin's back.

"I missed all of you, I swear! Especially Chid-" Beamer stopped Malvin from calling his real name.

"I told you to stop calling me that" Beamer begged.

"Wait you know his real name?" Stephanie asked.

"Why won't I know my crush's real name?" Malvin said, they all laughed but Moyo seemed to be weirded out.

It added more to her suspicions since Timi and Jason laughed the most.

The seven of them didn't spend too much time together, cause they were chased back to their classes shortly after.

Malvin had no sit when he got to class, he had to sit down on the only empty sit that was available for the mean time, which was Lateef and Lekan's sit but he was still thinking about where he'd sit if they come back.

Lateef stared at Malvin in disgust when he saw him seated on his seat, he gestured for Malvin to leave, Malvin took his time to leave the seat just to annoy Lateef.

Malvin almost made body contact with Lateef when leaving but Lateef jerked swiftly away from him as if Malvin had a contagious disease.

Malvin knew Lateef's intentions behind what he did, so he wasted no time in attacking him.

"Thank God you moved away... You could've touched me! you fag" Malvin said.

Jason immediately stood up trying to settle them, but Malvin warned him to stay out of it. Malvin didn't take his eyes off Lateef, he practically scanned him up to down. 

The whole scenario was ironic because Malvin was sus and people knew Lateef was very much homophobic. Lateef was unable to touch Malvin, instead he stared at him with somewhat confusion and disgust before hissing, which made everyone wonder if what Malvin was saying was actually true.

"You can sit down here" Zuriel stood up from her seat to let Malvin in.

Malvin felt relieved, he was so scared Lateef would've acted out before he saw a place to sit.

Malvin sat in the middle of their sit with Stephanie and Zuriel at each end. Malvin could feel eyes on him so he started making small talk with Stephanie, so he could get his mind off it.

"Would you go out with me?" Malvin said straightforward.

"What?" Stephanie laughed almost rolling.

"I'm serious"

"No....??? "

Malvin turned to ask Zuriel instead before Stephanie could finish talking.

"Yes" Zuriel had ulterior motives for wanting to go out with him.

"Can I kiss you?" Malvin asked.

"Like now?" Zuriel felt weird.

"Yes" Malvin responded with a british accent, Zuriel nodded, Malvin went in for a kiss and Zuriel went along.

Stephanie was a little jealous before she remembered she did almost the exact same thing to Zino.

Everyone could not stop staring, Malvin was loving the attention, Zuriel seemed to enjoy it too, people started to rethink everything they thought about Malvin. Especially Moyo, Jason and Timi.
