Chapter 34

Sixth period finished before break time, so they had break early, Jason and Stephanie met up at the abandoned building.

Stephanie and Jason spoke about what happened earlier today, before addressing the elephant in the room. "That time I saw you and Zino...?" Stephanie started.

"Yes??"

"It's OK I understand now... But why didn't you tell me?"

"Because of the way you reacted... "

Stephanie tried understanding what was going on by comparing Jason and Timi to gay fictional characters in Kdrama.

Stephanie watched her choice of words so as to not come off as homophobic.

Jason commented on Stephanie's effort, he was really proud of her.

"does Timi know?"

"That?"

"That I know..."

"Nah there's no need telling him... He doesn't even know about me and Zino... "

"You keep a lot of things to yourself"

"My best quality" Jason praised himself.

"I'm guessing Zuriel doesn't know or does she??"

"Of course not she'd probably condemn me or something... " Jason assumed.

Stephanie reminded him of what Zuriel did earlier in the day, Jason replied saying "she only stood up for him cause he helps her not because he's gay".

Jason was already tired of talking about himself so he changed the topic to Stephanie. Stephanie had no intentions of talking about Beamer, so she brought up her sisters going back to boarding school.

The conversation only lasted for a minute before Jason brought Beamer up, Stephanie claimed she hadn't spoken to him since she stopped him from hitting Lekan.

"That was brave of you but you should've stopped it right from the very beginning" Jason said.

"Me that was scared when I was begging Beamer, I didn't want to get in the middle of them, before someone would go and mistakenly hit me, Zuriel has mind... See the way she broke that Chair on Malik's back"

"I swear!"

"When did you and Timi start dating?"

Jason was moved by her sentence.

"What happened?"

"It's just that nobody has said that... So it sounded weird" Jason stated, Stephanie chuckled "back to you, where's Beamer? I want to bring you guys back together since you brought me and Timi together when we broke up" Jason felt kind of weird after saying that but it was nothing he couldn't get used to.

Jason left to go look for Beamer, break was almost over and he still hadn't seen him, he went back to the abandoned building to check on Stephanie. When he got there he met Beamer talking with Stephanie.

"Before you say anything.... Stephanie is sorry and she means it" Jason interrupted.

Beamer and Stephanie laughed, they informed him, they had sort things out while he was away. Jason felt good they were fully back together if only he could say the same for himself.

Chika managed to not come out of class after meeting Jason till after school hours, He tried leaving unnoticed but all eyes were on him so it was almost impossible.

A bunch of SSS3 students called him, he answered them, they were almost about bullying him but stopped when they saw Zuriel coming, Zuriel called him out. They let him go meet her cause they were scared of what she might do.

Zuriel asked about his wellbeing "did you injure?"

"No, they were mostly kicking my stomach and chest which is still paining me, I was covering my face, the entire time so...it wouldn't swell up" Chika said.

"Sorry, go and rest when you get home" Zuriel dismissed him, Chika left almost out of school until Zuriel told him to wait back where he was, she called Tope and told her to follow him home "when you get to his house, talk about what he did... It's wrong, I only helped him because he's my guy... "

Tope just nodded and went to meet Chika, she didn't want to try explaining to Zuriel it's not a choice.

Tope and Chika walked side by side like always and spoke for like ever, Chika seemed to have put everything behind him but he was hurting inside.

"What did Zuriel say when she called you?" Chika finally asked.

"She said I should tell you stop doing what you did"

"I'm not even surprised... But I understand where she's coming from... She just want what's best for me or what she thinks is best for me" Chika rephrased.

Tope followed Chika all the way to his house, his mom was at work when they got there, Chika started rethinking everything that went down, he wished he had squatted somewhere then had come back after his mom left.

Chika removed his shirt in front of Tope, she was stunned by all the bruises on his body, Chika was light skinned so it was pretty obvious.

"I'm sorry" Tope moved her hand down the bruises.

"I just want to die" a tear rolled down Chika's eyes, every feeling he held back in school came rushing, he started to have a mental breakdown "I hate myself so much, I wish I wasn't gay... I just want to be normal"

"Chika stop saying that.... You're normal... Lateef is the not normal one for doing this to you, I know what you're going through, don't worry good things are coming"

"You don't know what I'm going through!!!" Chika started tearing up "you don't know what it's like to like someone and not be able to express it... You don't know what it's like to be constantly attacked for just being yourself" Chika fell into her arms and she embraced him without saying anything while he kept crying. He felt much better in the comfort of her arms.

Zino met Jason at his house to ask how it went with Stephanie, Jason assured him their "secret" is safe with her.

"I don't like everything that's happening" Zino said.

"What do you mean?" Jason was afraid Zino was going to leave him and let him down like Timi did.

"See what they did to Chika, that could've been you or me... Let's just stop"

"See I don't want to hear that nonsense, I don't expect you to understand it's not a choice, you're just like them, the only difference is that you suck dick" Jason said.

Zino stood up and slapped Jason for being rude to him, his parents weren't around but Timi was so he heard it.

Zino pushed Jason away and walked out of the compound "get out bastard" he said before he left.

Timi came downstairs asking what happened, Jason said nothing, Timi didn't bring it up again.

Timi brought his things downstairs and was leaving for home.

"Wait you're going?" Jason asked.

"Yes my parents are waiting at home" Timi replied.

"Please just stay for the night" Jason almost teared up, he didn't want to have to loose two people.

"I can't.... I'd still come visiting don't worr..."Jason shut him up by kissing him.
